She was right about how you feel about your partner makes a difference. I no longer like my husband, or the person he has become. When someone doesn’t treat you well the last thing you feel like doing, is letting them crawl all over you.

Sex can not cure relationship pain. It's definitely not a good environment for intimacy.

I remember working a job i absolutely hated with a passion. It destroyed any desire for sex, happiness and I was completely miserable. Being happy and fulfilled will make a hugh difference.

I start listening to my wife more. When she’s flat out telling me these things. Real informative.👍

I think financial stress definitely plays a part. Age seems to as well, as it seemed to significantly decrease after 30, while it was insatiable before that, even though I've been on bc for years before and since. 😢 Maybe a part of that is getting married, because cleaning up after my spouse is a turn-off, as is being stressed about bills.

It sucks , I think my gf is just vitamin deficient and her diet isn’t the best . She has low sex drive , and it sucks bc she is beautiful and very sexy and it’s hard to just not think about sex with her when in bedroom , I don’t wanna push or force sex . I appreciate the information Dr. Jen because at 37 years old I feel like my body is starting over which my boyfriend Ray (47 years old) wouldn’t understand. To be honest, this is going to sound weird but the last time I had sex with him was 9 years ago. But when him and I fell out of sink things changed. He got hurt while on his retirement and I had job matters to tend to. But in between that I did go on one date but never had intercourse with that guy. And now that Ray and I found our way back to each other four months ago I’m nervous about the intercourse being painful. Does different culture and nationality play a role in any way? Because he’s Puerto Rican and I’m Italian. I’m hoping to not sound stupid. I am just hoping to have the right information, the right resources, and feedback to get over this fear of sex being painful. Thanks Dr. Jen for possibly reading this lol

Well women carry majority of the labor in relationships in marriages and on top of that, marriage benefits men more than women since she's doing everything to take care of them man. Not feeling safe, understood nor listened to and so much more.

Might be time to do some observational homework. What's changed for her (note, I didn't say "how has she changed?"). Work? Home location? Kids or lack of kids that she wants? Politics (yeah... this matters depending on the person)? Relatives? Responsibilities? Environmental? Your acknowledgement or other's acknowledgement of stressors? Any date nights? Enjoying the date nights? Just noticing, talking about a stressor without talking about or talking about the missing sex drive may be helpful. 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to stop putting this situation on the back burner I am going to my OB at the end of June and I'm going to lay it all out there for her and be like hey I have a little libido and I didn't think I should I'm 37 I'm married I have a kid I don't know but what gets to me is like my husband will take little Digs at me but in a joking way and then that makes me feel even more like crap or he's just downright rude and for some reason I am doing exactly what I thought I would never do I'm taking a lot of crap from him especially when it comes to what's going on in the bedroom and I don't know where to turn other than to have myself checked and to go to the ob. I'm just diagnosing myself here but I really think that one of the reasons for my low libido is because of lack of communication in my marriage.

I used to take Depovera shots in my 30's and it threw me into early menopause. Maybe that's what killed my libido?

Can a hysterectomy cause a low sex drive? Also, I had one ovary and both of my fallopian tubes removed. I still have my right ovary, plus I am in my 50s. So, my body is going through lots of changes at the moment. I was also in 3 car accidents. I am on meds from my accidents. One to help me sleep and one for anxiety. I would like to get my sex drive back! :(
