Had a similar problem in our new apartment back in '11. The shower drain never really drained very well from the beginning and regularly needed unclogging. After a couple of years I got fed up and bought a long twist spring. I managed to retrieve several pieces of electrical wire and cement from the drain, apparently the builders were messy. Though that was of course not nearly as difficult a job as this was!

I have seen a piece of lumber in drain line at apartment.. It was about a foot long. It was stuck at 90 elbow and the customer had constant clogging problem for years until we put camera down and found piece of lumber in the wall of unit below. Mistake or sabotage? We will never know. Management paid for the repair.

*At the end where they were running the drain test (at 12: 42), you could see the corrogated drain discharge line going from the sink into the main drain, when they installed the plumbing, they must have ran it down the drain pretty far and over the years the piece broke off, maybe even being clogged at one point and the drain auger could have broke the piece off and it fell down and they never even knew it must have broke off. That's the most likely scenario.*

a hot air pistol might have helped a lot to soften that tube. :) BTW I wish you guys were here in my area in Ecuador. I have a kitchen sink that has trouble with fat clogs since we moved into this house. First caused by bad angle in drain pipe which has been fixed and most of the clog had been removed but now is clogged again and even acid won't help to open it up again. Worst thing is there is literally not a single company/person here that offers drain cleaning services.

Why isn't there an s bend trap under the sink? Instead, more thin corrugated hose that looks like it was taken off a washing machine drain hose! Nothing worse than corrugated drain pipes for buildup of sludge and causing blockages because it slows water flow and promotes sedimenting. Plumbers in the video were great, but whoever originally plumbed that sink drain was dodgy a.f.
