@@cjr9298 I think she meant Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) aka Behavior Interventionist (BI) aka Behavior Therapist. But you can be a therapist with a Master’s degree, it doesn’t have to be a doctorate degree. And RBT may be called as Behavior therapists since they technically facilitate behavior programs (or behavior plan) to autistic individuals. (:

Most psych degrees need a specialty because there aren’t too many high-paying jobs for just a BA. The general saying with a psych degree is you either go clinical, medical, or law.

Because a Bachelors of Arts in psychology is different than a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. In the arts bachelors: You take more classes with bases that fit more diverse working environments like school/kids/marriage counseling, social work, industrial/patient/clinical/criminal psychologist. This is usually where ppl find trouble getting employment because this bachelors degree has classes more focused on history, social groups, interpretation, and using already existing data/research. In the science bachelors: You take more maths, sciences and biology, technology, statistical data analysis, and lab related classes in order to do lab research, neuroscience, experimental studies, etc. A lot of this involves conducting and creating your own research. Big difference.

  • @medusavee8649

As a psych student, my experience of many psychology related careers is that it is more often focused on human behaviour. However, there are psych, neuroscience and other behavioural sciences careers that do focus on animal behaviour So there's an animal behaviourist , which is the equivalent of an animal psychologist. They typically focus more on the addressing behavioural issues with animals, especially on from a clinical perspective and they typically do work with domesticated animals ( usually pets) although they can works with wild animals in certain instances. To my knowledge, there isn't a singular way of becoming a behaviourist because you can get certified to be a behaviourist with accredited animal behaviour organisations outside of a university but there are also Masters and Phd in Animal behaviour or those related fields, especially if you want to be a researcher in this field.
