After watching many of these Easy Dutch videos, I have noticed one thing, which coming from having learnt German for a while seems counterintuitive: It seems in Dutch, just like in German, infinitive verb forms as well as certain plurals end in -en. Well, here's the catch: In German, it's like most of the time, the "e" isn't pronounced (Laufen sounding like "Lauf'n"), whereas in Dutch, it's the "n" that is often left unpronounced (Lopen sounding like "Lopə", with a more open "e" at the end). So, if there's no "n" pronounced, how would you know the person speaking to you is actually coming up with a plural or infinitive form.

Bro wtf. I am German Nativ and I at first, the german that I am, wanted to write that you wrong. But I realised that you maybe right and now I can't pronounce laufen anymore xD.

And btw. The thing in Dutch is definitv something I also picked up. Btw laufen is a good example. But im gerneral I think it is more that when you ask a german to pronounce it, he will speak it out loud. But if he talks to you in a complete sentence he may skip the e. Weird that it is my own language and I did notice it. Funny other thing I noticed since learning dutch. I found it very weird that the word food (eten) is also the verb so eten means also (eating). As I tried to wrap my head around that my girlfriend reminds me that this is also the case in German. Essen (food), ich esse (I am eating)

Voor vijf euro kan je een trein ticket van Nijmegen naar Duitsland kopen, om daar voor negen euro een ticket te kopen met dat je kan in alle regionale treinen, bussen, metros etc.. in de hele land rijden.

I watch Nos Nieuws van de week. It gives official subtitles.. it helps me lot.

This is a very interesting topic! In the Netherlands I would buy a lekker croissant from LIDL and get a cup of coffee at Rum Baba in Amsterdam 😊 it's the best cafeteria!

I think it can be quite easy because not only the country but also the language is in-between Germany and the England. The kast video by Tim and Linus is about Dutch v. German you can check it out.

Ofcourse there are also people who aint tall, just like me i'm a Dutch man that is 1.66 Meter. It's not like there is something in the water we drink that change how tall we become.

в разных провинциях по-разному произносится «р», от позиции в слове тоже зависит его произношение 🙂
