² = eierbal (literally: "egg ball") - typical snack from the Dutch province of Groningen made of hard boiled egg in ragout that is breaded
³ = oliebol (literally: "oil ball") - typically Dutch pastry that is fried in oil, traditionally eaten on New Year's Eve
⁴ = speculaas - typically Dutch biscuit, that is mainly eaten on Sinterklaas, can be filled with almond paste and is then called "gevuld (filled) speculaas"

Stroopwafels in the UK are slightly different, a Dutch man used to sell them in the local market but with toffee instead, he then opened a shop followed by a factory to sell them all over the UK, for retirement he set the business to be a trust for the workers and community.
this is one of my favorite episode! I can easily recognize what they talk about. Perkedel, indonesian version of frikandel. en ook karoket, indonesian version of kroket. uhhh heel lekker!

Hoi Easy Dutch! Leuke video als altijd 😃 Mijn favoriete eten is de kibbeling. Warme kibbeling uit het markt. Ik vind ook leuk de filet americain met italiaanse bol. Ik weet niet het is typisch Nederlandse eten.

Had hopjes vla een keer. Vind ook bosbessen an aardbeieen yoghurt lekker. Mij autocorrect hulpt me niet vandaag.

Ik ben pissig dat de Albert Heijn de hopjesvla en de blanke vla heeft aangepast naar een synthetisch-smakende variant. Met een soort hypervanille en plastic-nasmaak. Vind ik zo jammer, het was al die jaren heerlijk en toen moest het weer goedkoper geproduceerd.
Qua Nederlands eten eet ik graag kibbeling met een beetje citroensap erop en een Mexicaanse saus die Valentina heet, echt een goede combo. Ik hou ook van de Nederlandse appels, ze zijn zo lekker hier.
Vind ook lekker stampot of boorenkool met worst en witlof met ham in kaas

Ik vind hagelslag het meest Nederlands eten omdat er in andere landen geen is. Maar mijn favoriete Nederlandse eten is satekroket. Ik hou van de snackmuur!

I live in the US. Is broccoli not common in the Netherlands? The man said he had never heard of it before. Its incredibly common here.

He meant "broccoli stampot". Stampot is kind of a mashed potato dish with some veggies, like carrots, kale ("boerenkool" in Dutch), etc. But this guy's family adds broccoli, which is very unusual.

I know English very well and I also know a little German and I was able to understand 55-60% of what was said in this video! Dutch seems to me to be a more simplified German with many influences from English!

Two important differences though; 1. Certain 100%-English-words are not Dutch, but have been influenced from the outside and are slang. Things like chill or cool or vibe etc. That's happened since recent years. 2. There are a lot of false friends in German and Dutch that can be very confusing. Other than that, it does seem like a mixture, yes.

I think it is the other way round. English was probably influenced by Dutch and German. It's about the Germanic tribes who moved westward and settled in today-Netherland and invaded the south of the Great British island, or what today is called England.

Nah , ik wil graag gwoon lekker chinese eten of patat Met frikandel , croket en curry sauce er bij. Haha heerlijk. (Dutch food is not that so yummy just my own opinion)
Food?! Weten de Nederlanders überhaupt wat cuisine is? Wanneer ik door NL reis, ga ik altijd in een Indonesisch of een Surinaams restaurant eten. De Nederlandse keuken bestaat gewoon niet.

@@Widdekuu91 Precies! 😄Het Nederlands is ook niet mijn moedertaal (en ik spreek het niet fouteloos, toegegeven) maar ik hou wel van een aantal leuke dingen in Nederland. Alleen hoort het eten daar gewoon niet bij.

@@Widdekuu91 Arme mens! Maar hoe kun je eigenlijk überhaupt over "de Nederlandse keuken" spreken, aangezien de Nederlanders gewoonweg niet geven om wat ze eten? Je kunt ze rotzooi te eten geven (en het is trouwens meestal het geval) en ze zien sowieso het verschil niet met echte culinaire kunst, dus ik zie niet in hoe er sprake kan zijn van "Nederlandse keuken". Het is letterlijk om het even wat.

@@majy1735 Goh, je probeert wel heel erg duidelijk een ruzie te starten. Helaas heb ik er geen zin in. Ik heb namelijk net heerlijk genoten van wat crackertjes. Sommige mensen zijn gewoon wat sneller tevreden en andere mensen zeuren liever. Fijn weekend!

Waarom heb je nummer 6 uit de vertaling gelaten. Jullie zijn echt raar man. Jullie hebben Suriname gekoloniseerd en nederlands gebracht maar ´´spang´´ wil je niet vertalen en leren? Linus of Jeroen maak niet uit wie. We gaan jullie expose. Tenzij je het accepteert
