Thanks for a beautiful presentation, the history of the world is full of colonization and conquering at various period of the world. Anywhere you see today people claiming this is our land somebody was there before them, probably they were conquered and colonized, like Australia, USA and Canada, India,Malaysia etc were colonized by Britain, Brittain, France, Germany, France, holland, Belgium etc was colonized by Roman's, Roman's when they were city state under Greeks, and even the Greeks were colonized. The root of colonization is based on 2 thing limited resources and exploitation of other people resources; simply put satisfaction of human greed, before the European came African kingdom has been doing the same, and part of what is involved is assimilation of the conquered culture, given them your culture language, make them feel inferior, and there were educated to care for the motherland, paying tax without no representation, repression of your language but other people that were exploited in the same way especially Asian and others, studied how the European turned their colonization to their advantage, how especially Germany, Britain and France did it, they took the good like roman education system; were the deca/ roman number system, their engineering etc integrated it into their system, their crazy thing like gladiator fighting etc they abandoned it. Everything in life is learned, so the 1st thing African countries should have done is to change the education system, they gave us an inferior system to cather for expertrate European, but could not really manufacture anything, this was the areas that most Asian countries attacked 1st, their education system is based a lot on practical experiment, but ours mostly a lot of book, like the saying a bird in hand is worth more than 2 in the bush, is like trying to learn how to drive from, without having seen a car, an average European are used to microscopes in elementary school, but in Africa, some of us that are lucky might use a microscope in high school few weeks to graduation, the Asian changed their curriculum to European styles, 2nd mistake was indiginization too early, most of the production technology was still with European when we told them to leave, even in China and India today they are still bringing, supervising engineers and scientists from western countries, for example you heard of the Oxford genetic professor that was employed at Wuhan University by Chinese government for $1million per annum, because he knows the secret of MRNA vaccine technique, stories industrial espionage abound, same thing we should have done but instead. African started in ghana 1965 to Nationalize/ indiginization, Ghana has never been the same, while we were driving them away, India was encouraging, big western multinational companies to establish huge primary industries in their country, even risking their populace like union carbide accident in Bopa India in 1984, they could not try that in usa their home country at that time, though thousands were killed, today India are giant in chemical production because all what they learnt took it to their classroom and implement it, for example when British were here in 60s and 70s we had refinery managed by BP expert producing world standards petroleum products including jet A1 fuel today we are struggling to produce to that specification with new refinery manned by inexperienced indias, but if European come now they will tweak that refinery at lekki, and the fuel will be world class, pride might be our problem, the colonial masters are wicked and selfish but there's a way to deal with them learn from them until, you master it, then your pride can kick in then. We need them right now but let them bring them knowledge down here sometimes you have to pay them heavily, sometimes beg them Even in thing like sport, time we apply the same technique send some our local coaches for apprenticeship in European clubs, been payed from nigeria then after a few years you won't need to be paying million of dollars to them tax free for a 2nd class coach. Just to add this Israel is Palestine land, no it's Jews, whenever you conquered someone the land becomes yours and the isrealite too meet some people already in the promised land, but once you conquer it is yours, everyland every culture has some one there when they conquered, I am sure the ibos had some people they conquered, also Oduduwa conquered some people and we colonized them and assimilate them. 1st Americans conquered the native Indians, Australian conquered aborigines, New Zealand the Maoris etc.😊

As a Ghanaian I do resent the exploitation of our resources and labor. But in the end, I think Ghana as a country did benefit from colonization in some ways. We live in a Wyt controlled world (still) and that helped us to have an introduction into this system of things.

Who's to say? We were known for being incredibly resource-rich and powerful. Plus, countries like Japan were never colonised by the British but are thriving.
