Local law enforcement, on the other hand, is equipped and trained for that specific task. They handle the heavy lifting. Federal law enforcement, if federal jurisdiction can be established, investigates once the situation has been defused. You know what virtually ended campus riots in the 1970s? During the spring semester of 1970 Governor Ronald Reagan of California shut it down for the rest of the academic year. He closed all UC and Cal State universities, sent the students, staff and administration home and it was done. No further damage, no one was injured or killed and law enforcement got back to regular duties. And boy, howdy did that piss off Bill Ayres and Bernadine Dohrn. Why? It has to do with the actual definition of terrorism. In part terrorism is defined as a politically active group posing a community threat in such a way that the general public perceives they could be next when in fact the threat is limited to the campus (in this set of circumstances). Governor Reagan called the bluff. The Weather Underground was for all intents and purposes history from that point on to today. Billy and Bernie left the Bay Area and moved to Chicago to become professors.

For a senator Katie seems quite uninformed. There are many things going on behind the scenes that you should be aware of. Why then does she bring talking points from Fox News? The Middle East is a very volatile place. Instead of adding a voice of calm and reason, she is adding misinformation and fear and blame. Do you really want a regional war in the Middle East? Will that bring you satisfaction? Will that bring the world closer to Harmony? A politician is supposed to stand above the fray and help bring reason and justice. Katie is not helping in the least.

She asked a good question and gave good rebuttal at why their response is lack luster. This chick needs to learn not to smile so much; its a disingenuous habit that she practiced when growing up. She's smiling while calling out bad behavior; my brain superficially sees it as though she's enjoying it. But I know she's not because I'm smart enough to know the quirk because I saw it after the [ State of the Union Address ] speech. Its give me a red-flag, like when I see someone frowning while eating birthday cake; I assume something is totally wrong and I start investigating and looking for the bad. There's nothing terribly wrong with her, but her physical signaling has a high learning curve. She'll need way more national exposure if they want to boost her as a super political personality and seat runner. After her [State of the Union Address] post-republican speech, I had to do research on her just to make sure she was legit (and hasn't been voluntarily committed before). She's giving off abnormal facial expressions. P.S. I'm an engineer and computer scientist for the medical field (focused on psychiatry (hence the "I've seen that face before" vibes)).

I would like to ask. All those students: What did you do for USA, what did do your parents, grandparents for your today first amendment rights. I’m so confused. Also, she freely admits her ignorance on the process of investigation and disregards his response to less workers being able to investigate. Which would be fine if she asked follow up questions to understand. Her performance is obviously not coming from a solution oriented approach. If she really cared about reaching a solution, she would listen and therefore acknowledge that the education department is being stretched thin with 3 times the amount of cases to investigate. If she wants action, it starts by her asking questions on the process involved in investigations and ways they can help streamline and speed up the process. Not deflect concerns from him so she can speak about her kid and lead that into another issue without even trying to solve the first issue she brought up.
