I think I'm one of many who has been wondering if there was a noticeable improvement with the new final drive ratio, from someone who knows what they are talking about. Excited to hear you give it a thumbs-up! But did you say that beep is a prompt to shift gears??? I hope the driver can turn that off!

Great vlog as always ! Even though I don't own a Civic I love the the tunability of the Civic. . you can make the car whatever you want from stanced to race to show . what's really amazing is that plr already has a car running 10 40 on a stock bottom end. And feathering the car out of the hole at 2500 RPMs not dumping the clutch With a PRL intercooler front pipe mid pipe downpipe. Stage 2 clutch with A K pro tune and a 27 won turbo under $4,000 if they do that for the Civic 1.5 think what they can do with a Accord 2.0 with the same; basic motor as a type R with a different ECU and turbo. That's what's amazing about the Honda products.

Thank you for the great reviews on the SI and the hatchback sport earlier. I think the sport touring suits me. I especially like the dual exhaust vs the hdmi like you noted. There is very limited 2020 Civic SI and hatchback inventory in my area now but it’s early.

Great review. I picked up a Black 2020 Si Sedan last week and absolutely love it, great mid range, usable torque! Had a 14 Focus ST and this car is equal if not better as it is more refined and without the quirks the ST had. The LSD keeps the power down on the corners. Also have an 18 SHO and while its fast and AWD, this Si is way more fun!

Great review! Funny you mention it, I learned how to drive manual in a 2009 Si coupe. After having a Miata for 3 years I recently upgraded to a 19 Si coupe. Honda offers a great blend of performance and efficiency. Thank you for covering all the new updates!

Yes. Flash it. But that may affect the warranty. They have to prove it was the cause of whatever issues you may have though. It will just be a hassle if you have to fight it.

I definitely would have bought this car had I not bought my 19 Type R This year!! They didn’t a lot of awesome changes to this car!! The Si is one of the most amazing cars for the price!! I get over 50 mpg on the hwy with my 2017. that’s using cruise control and not braking.

I have a 13 Si coupe I bought brand new and I'm still enjoying it to this day. Awesome fun cars!

Now that 2020 Civic Si came out they should give the chance of 2017 - 2019 Si Owners to upgrade. My friend owns a 2017 Si and he loves his Si he just wishes he had the volume knob. I have the 2019 and I wished I had the LED Headlights. So imo Honda should extend their “add-ons” list for owners who have the previous fascias But other than that, ty for showing the differences of the facelift.

Joe, watched this review a dozen times or more. I am going out to buy an si, and I am 71 years old. You are the best!!!

Got my Red 2020 Coupe 2 weeks ago and just passed the 1k mile mark. Since my 96 Civic was stolen in 2014, it took me a bit to get back to the Honda fam. I'm glad I'm back, cause this car is so fun to drive. I'm going to wait a bit before I do anything major to it. Hondata+Exhaust maybe...still learning 🙏 Thanks for the vid man!

2019 si is better than 2020 imo. Little bit more raw and true. No lane change alert 🚨 or added safety systems. No LED headlights, just raw halogen.

Great review and video as always! I totally agree with the Zonk on the chrome window trim. Just think if the chrome was replaced with black. I'm 70 years young and recently purchased a 2019 Civic Sport. Love the car! I don't know whats going on inside of the driver and passenger doors but I give a HUGE Zonk to Honda for not extending the storage area to the length of the door. My 2004 Accord had more storage space there. I'll give another Zonk to the Ads I have to skip through when viewing your video but I guess they pay the Bills. Love the new "do" on your head!

which one do you prefer, VW Jetta GLI or Honda Civic Si?

I was just checking out the Honda website on the new Civic and then went to see any reviews and BAM! There's Joe Raiti who just did an upload! I think its a heck of a value and a nice fuel efficient commuter car that won't break the bank and is fun to drive. I had a 95 Civic LX manual coupe and these have come a long way since then. Great build quality, reliability and economical. The styling is still a little out there but much improved over previous version. I agree with you on the chrome strip on the roof line. Zonk.

Work as a valet for like a week just to learn manual and then quit, at least that's what I did to learn manual, made some money too:)

4 months ago I bought a 2019 pearl white sedan SI, I think its a blast to drive. The 2020 is nice but I don’t want all that safety stuff in a sports car. I do like the LED headlights but the deal breaker for me are the black rims, that’s why I passed on the Mazda 3 sport touring, to each is own. The 19 is fast enough for me but would like a little louder exhaust, another great review Joe

I agree with the safety stuff. So you know it can all be turned off, and it is, I made sure of that before I got my 20 sedan. I love the perl pearl white, good choice! Stays clean too, unlike Black, but man does it look nice when it's clean.

@@RaitisRides Heroic mechanical ability still required to replace them? Time of day experience says the dawns red glare is something still available from the coupe red spoiler? The policeman did not like that I couldn't see the high beam indicator per driving position. As others have stated--no zonk on electric parking brake?. SI emblems. I once gave a 50 dollar value gift card to a dealership salesman to properly identify to a glass replacement business the emblem he refused to step outside his office to look at. Book no computer. Without the emblem he could have identified the vehicle.

Mr. Squid I own the 2019 Si and people tell me my exhaust looks like an oversize HDMI port. My neighbor actually liked it so much that he replaced his stock exhaust on his 2017 Hatch with the Si's.

Does this come with all season tires or summer performance tires? I’d like to have summer tires.

I like this car for the money but that rear has a big 🍑 lol all in all can’t go wrong with this car tho.

Im on the fence of buying a new civic si, my old 08 climbed to 200k miles without much issue.. will a 2017+ be able to do that? will the turbocharger hurt reliability? and do all the new tech bells and whistles ever break or are they generally good?

Regg I’m financing the car and I paid $8000 out the door for the down payment I could of gone lower but the monthly payments would of been higher. Depending on your credit you can get a lower interest rate and a lower payment if you qualify. But definitely worth it I’m learning how to drive stick and this is the perfect car.

@@Shakeem Yea I've been meaning to buy new OEM clear pair of headlights, I've seen them before, they look good a lot better looking when the DRL is super white, I've done all the other lights LED man that was sorta a pain to do, expensive too my entire car is LED besides the 2 front blinkers and the headlights, those are next though, I can't believe my car is so old now but I don't ever wanna give it up, Gen 8 for LIFE lol

The IIHS rated the LEDS and Halogens as poor. Honda's are junk is you drive at night, might as well have a flash light.

Just brought a 2019 Civic Si. Straight HWY miles is awesome, but in hustle bustin traffic in Metro ATL. The gas mileage I hate to say it sort of sucks. I don't think I am not making even 30 miles per gal. My 2006 Acura was a bit better. Still enjoying it though. Great review.

That’s why you always never buy the first released model. Chances are the models coming after it will be better.

michael vang wasnt even the first model the 2019 got a volume knob!!! but honestly the only thing i would change out from the 2020 is the wheels thats it i love my 2019

I just wish I had the LED headlights. They look really sharp. The new painted vents up front look silly to me. I'd rather they just remove them or replace it with bodywork. And the shorter final drive is ehh. First is already WAY too short to be useful. I'd rather they make 1st longer (a little shorter than 2nd), and then re-evenly split all the gears between the new longer 1st and 6th. Would be a lot more fun to drive. The only thing that will make me regret getting the 2019 is if they release a refresh that gets rid of the rev hang. I'd be pissed.

How does the bucket front seat feel like? Will people get tired after a long drive?

Any idea when the type r will be released?
