This video is probably the *most* comprehensive and most importantly, _clear_ exploration of the subject I've seen on KZread so far. Almost every other video I've seen will simply show the increasingly identical-looking bikes next to each other without explaining what the actual trails they were meant to be on actually _look_ like; I've finally answers to questions I've had for literal YEARS!

Yeah! we are on the same page indeed!.
I took my 700 dollar down country hard tail and made it into all mountain. Changed the coil suspension to rock shock air suspension with more travel, upgraded hydraulic brakes to higher performance brakes pads and dics, changed tire to more aggressive tread and changed my drive terrain from 3x7 to 1x12. Yeah I could of bought a more expensive bike but it was fun upgrading the bike and I got to choose each part.
Good to see you back again and the new format is looking good 👍and you make everything easy to understand 😀.
Been looking forward to this vid for ages, cheers Phil

Very informative video, thanks bro
My current bike, a 2021 GT Force Alloy is sitting between an all mountain and enduro bike. 150mm put back, 170 up front, but it’s not a total boat and can make its way up technical climbs surprisingly well. I’ve hit everything from green to single black trails on it, and it was still fun on green trails but shines on steep tech. Plus for $3500 it was worth every cent. I even did an xc time trial on it and didn’t finish last in my category solely because of the descents.
Thank you for this video

great video! I've got a gravel bike already and wanted something I could ride all day but handle more intermediate downhill fireroads and singletrack, and a downcountry bike fit the ticket. I bought a Santa Cruz Tallboy and couldn't be more safisfied.

Thanks mate! Really appreciate it. Love it up here, definitely need to ride more but have been rehabbing a bad back for the past few weeks. Id say a short travel trail bike would be the best option. Makes the pedally trails fun but still capable enough to tackle the longer blue descents and the of black trail at mt cotton and samford.

Vitus Nucleus 👌
I recently purchased a hardtail frame. While researching geo I got really confused on seat tube angle because it seems like every manufacturer measures it differently. I wouldn’t mind seeing a video explaining that.
Ok, since I'm interested in top versatility, guess the all-mountain category would be for me. These really look like bikes that can do it all, like the stumpjumper evo.
I love the look of the DH and Enduro bikes but it turns out I'm a XC / Trail type of rider , I use the bike to explore places and I also use it to get to those places

Appreciate your videos heaps mate, especially as someone riding in SEQ! Do you think the canyon spectral is too much bike for general trail use? I'm starting to push a bit harder but nothing crazy at all. My poor $1000 xc hardtail has been flogged through the trails including castle hill and mt Joyce black runs and I'm ready to upgrade.. if the spectral is overbike then I'm thinking the Neuron or Siskiu t8...
Hey, in my country there isn't a lot of dh bikes being sold especially used, so what are the best dh bikes under 4000€ or dollars? I'd propably go with used because good deals, and i don't want the bike to be super shiny and nice because itis a dh bike ofc
can you still use an XC bike for trips to the bike park on green and blue level trails?
frankly speaking, over past 3 yrs of me owing a mini enduro bike and been agressively riding, for the majority of oz mtb riders, long travel 29er (140--160) trail bikes or AM bikes would suit the best, which eat up the the big chuck easily and pedal friendly. oz is just as too flat, nothing too steep.
@trailtalkmtb6603
2 жыл бұрын
100%! I'd say an AM bike would be the best option for enduro racing in AUS too, especially with a more experienced rider. There is a couple of places where a bigger bike would be nice but for the vast majority AM or trail would be best. I'm loving my 135/140 on the Siskiu T!
Can you please suggest me on which category I need to go my requirements are I want to ride on road as well as off-road,, I want something for steep climb but also for good descent,, and I also want speed and agility,,,,and it should be hardtail 🙏🙏🙏🙏 please reply

@@trailtalkmtb6603 it’s all about that downhill fun. Plus it’s saved my ass a couple of times from going over the handlebars 😂
I have a Santa Cruz Bronson , is it a Trail Bike or Enduro it has 160 travel in front. Some videos say it's a Trail and others say it's an Enduro. Confused.
So the trail bike is the best for uphill and downhill terrain? Ans can it take aggressive rider abuse as well?
I don't recommend XC bikes unless they plan on becoming an XC racer. A trail bike is more forgiving. The geometry and extra grip make up for lack of skill. So I feel trail bikes are actually better for beginners. Hopefully manufacturers continue more entry level mountain bikes with trail geometry. Thanks for the video!

100%! I find the geo a bit too aggressive for most (especially when looking at race bikes like the anthem and epic). Trail bikes a more comfortable and forgiving, plus they allow plenty of room for progression

Enduro in terms of travel but more all mountain in terms of geo. So it will be a bit more playful but still be able to handle some bigger hits like an enduro bike

Looking to buy a full sus down country bike , but can't find anything in europe, other than lux trail - but ive heard so many horror stories with canyon I dont know if I want to risk that. Contacted them like 4-5 times and they weren't even able tell me even basics like what damper is there, dropper insertion depth, if caliper can be lifted for bigger rotors, etc. Very very bad customer support.
