The biggest thing here is in the name. Independent. That means if the right tire goes over a bump, there is no force applied to the left side. However, if you have a solid axle, the right tire goes over a bump/rock, then that pushes down on the left side. If something happens on one side of a straight axle, then something happens on the other side. Hope that makes sense lol.
