Thank-you for producing this video. It has been tremendously helpful in making my suspension choice decision much easier. Based on the information provided within this video, solid axle atvs would then be the obvious choice for those also intending to carry a passenger, as they will not lose ground clearance from the added weight of the second rider and are also more stable on weird angles. This video even shows the SRS equipped Honda setup for a second rider as the IRS equipped Honda is not. I was under the impression that solid axles were a much better choice for serious towing or pulling in comparison to IRS equipped atvs even prior to watching this video. This is why I can't understand how the 2015 Honda Foreman Rubicon 4x4 w/IRS is rated at 1322lbs for towing, while the 2015 Honda Foreman 4x4 w/SRS is only rated at 848lbs per Honda's product brochures. The power plants are the same. And I find it hard to believe the frame of the SRS equipped atv is that much weaker than the frame of the IRS equipped atv. That's a massive difference of 474lbs! If someone at Honda or a knowledgeable Honda dealer or rep would explain this to me, I would greatly appreciate it.

The hitch is attached to the chassis on IRS, on SRS its attached to the axle which attaches to the chassis.

@@toyota4x4legend So being attached directly to the chassis is apparently a stronger connection than the axle. The axle connection must be the weak point, thus the lower tow rating... I'm assuming.

Yes because there is no chassis back there to really attach to a compromise is being made.

I have a 2013 420 rancher and the suspension specs says it’s a swing arm suspension? Is that the same as a solid rear suspension?
