For the 40th Anniversary of Transformers, getting to see the original cartoon was certainly a lot of fun for the family. Here's my thoughts on the event!

Happy 40th Anniversary to Transformers!!!!!!😄🎉
Saw it a few days ago and it was great. The guy who did starscream was really good!!! He even looked like a human version of him!!!

Loved that he flipped his decepticon lapel pins upside down to look like starscreams wings in robot mode
I watched this on Wednesday and loved it. So good seeing it on the big screen. The recording by the voice actors was so good. I think it would have been cool was if they had included some old 80s Transformers commercials during "the Transformers will return after these messages!", just really go hard on the nostalgia.

I was hoping this too, especially the Jetfire commercial, since that's the only animated clip existing of the original Jetfire from the Namco/Bandai/Robotech Skull Squadron mold.
40 years?! Yikes, I'm old. I was 11 when the G1 cartoon premiered in 1984. G1 is the original and still the best.

I wasn’t around for the original cartoon unfortunately, transformers Prime was my first show and is still my favorite. Although I really loved watching g1 when I was younger.

@@TheBabyCaleb I love Transformers still, I will binge the entire show up to B.O.T, then the Movie where I headbang along before continuing the G1 show: takes me right back to my days as a 5 yr old kid experiencing it for the very first time. Only show I didn't watch was Rescue Bots as it's for the audience I was part of back in 1985

Yeah I know what you're talking about
I particularly enjoyed seeing people reacting to the animation errors. Particularly the two Starscreams and the Autobots wondering where Bumblebee was, when he was standing right there. (Most likely a miscolored Cliffjumper. Also a shame they didn’t bring in Corey Burton
Wasted €200 and a whole day in train just to go see it. Wouldn't change this experience to anything. This is how Transformers is meant to be seen, big and loud. Really hope they'll show the 86 movie on theaters too!
Two buds and I went on Wednesday. We had a blast! Like three kid’s watching Saturday morning cartoons together back in 1984. The table reading was amazing. Would watch each episode of season one in that way.
Make me Hope I Want G1 Return like X Men 87
You know what episode would be GREAT on the big screen? Call of the Primitives. Absolutely awesome animation! Throw in a few other high quality season 3 episodes, too.
Oh wow! I am so glad Frank Welker is still around! I thought he passed away! He is one of my favorite voice-actors! 😊 The voice-actor who did Jazz back in the day was the one and only Scatman Crothers! One of my favorite actors and musicians! 😊

Welker is definitely still around. He voices Curious George! But think about it this way: Welker, Cullen, and Bell were all there. Michael Bell was not only Prowl, but also Duke in GI Joe. So in that room you had OP, Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, Ironhide, Prowl, Duke, Wild Bill, Breaker, Hefty Smurf, Eeyore, Mighty Man, Yukk, Red Skull, Iceman, Galvatron, Teletraan 2, Glove (Bionic six), Runt (Rita and Runt, Animaniacs), Fred, and a few others we have all forgotten...

Scatman was a legend. I was referring to Arif S Kinchen who filled in for Jazz.
We did this as well on Wednesday. It was absolutely surreal because outside of a couple of clips of G1 and some of the reissued toys, all of the Transformers shows they have seen were arced off of Bayverse (they grew up on Rescue Bots, which IMHO is the best out of that entire lot). So they have never seen anything G1 of any sort, let alone heard the people behind the voices. But seeing that for the first four episodes in the theaters was so cool. Now my kids want to watch every G1 episode, including the movie.
We had a ball when me and my crew went . We all had on our transformers shirts on .
I called off work on Wednesday/the 15th just to see this, and it was worth it (and I'm glad that, after ep 4, they paid tribute to the deceased voice actors)
Hard to replace Scatman Crothers and Chris Lotta. R.I.P. I hope they did well though

Lorada did okay.. but I think that the kid that asked a question to Frank at the Welker/Cullen panel did a much better Starscream, and even got Welker's and Cullen's approval.. It was even more cool that Welker replied in Megatron's voice.

As you grow older and mature and life, you get less excited by certain things as our perception of reality changes. G-1 Transformers however, as well as the masterpiece 1986 movie, is something that will always have that awe and wonder that blows my mind every time. It blew me away in 84, 86 and blows me away today.
I wish they included the opening for each episode. It's one of the best openings of all time. I did enjoy rewatching in the theater.
If they were to remaster the G1 'toon definitely I would LOVE to see it with animation errors corrected, cut into widescreen and anything missing added back in.
Arif S. Kinchen was Jazz.
Happy 40th anniversary transformers
Happy 40th Anniversary to Transformers! Here's to another 40 years and I would love to see the original series come out on Blu-Ray! I would buy it.
We are sooo old!😂 Children of the 80's, I salute you! Because knowing is 4/8 the battle!
I saw the "film" today and it was fun! Sure, the ads at the beginning were one too many, but I loved the intro with the VAs and the outtakes at the end of the episode 1 reread. It further cements my feelings why I enjoy the OG cast of Transformers so much. Happy 40th Anniversary! :D
I love it when your kids were quoting the show
Happy 40th anniversary to the Transformers
I had a good experience, seeing the beautifully drawn cells on the theatre was so nice. Gregg;s Spike got my theatre in a few laughs as well😂 Happy 40th anniversary to Transformers!!!
I went to this this earlier today with my wife, son & mom. We all enjoyed it & my son is now more interested in Transformers than before. He was asking questions (how did Megs become the leader?) & wanted to play @ him being Prime against my Megatron. The crowd laughed @ the animation errors w/ the favorite being the Doublebee one. Where's Bumblebee guys? You mean that 1 right there, right behind you? My wife wondered why the bright yellow one was the stealth expert & not Mirage? While it wasn't perfect, the other younger fans there are now more interested in Tfs & may even go to 1 of the upcoming Cons. It was an event which brought fans together which makes it worth it!
Happy 40th Anniversary Transformers G1
Happy 40th anniversary to our favorite robots in disguise!
Happy 40th Anniversary Transformers!!! I felt like a kid again watching the GI Transformers in action.
Saw it this past saturday. Seeing peter cullen and frank welker together and doing the voices was everything.
I'm going tomorrow so thanks for reminding me. Kinda wish they would play the movie in the theatres every couple of years especially nowadays because Holly wood is almost completely decayed of anything good or worth watching. Great video and thanks. Can't wait to see this on the big screen in a long time!
Took my whole family and it was my three year old's first movie theater experience. He loves G1, so it blew his mind. I wish I had watched this before going so I'd know to look for the cup!! 😢
I went yesterday, I loved the first episode so much. I really loved the "bloopers".
I did this today and it was so cool watching those first four episodes on the big screen! Having video of the actors voicing characters was really cool as well! 40 years of great entertainment!
awesome job about Experience Theaters of G1 from Transformers
I went Wednesday night with the wife. Good crowd was there. Starscream voice actor kept me in stiches. Only thing that got me was since they were having fun with the reading the voices out of sync with animation a lot. 🤣
That's what it's all about! The experience, the creation of new younger fans and the magic of the Generation 1 Transformers! I loved the cinematic experience myself despite seeing the episodes dozens of times!
Saw it a few hours ago and I loved it! I started cracking up when they showed the bumblebee psa at the end😂😂the lip sync in part 1 was a little off but i still loved the voice acting
I have complete collection the transformers g1 dvd series. - happy 40th anniversary the transformers g1 🎉. thanks rodimus have a great week god bless
I really enjoyed it. The guy the did Starscream was great.
Happy 40th to both the Transformers Community and our favorite robots in Disguise. Till All Are One!
Frank Todoro was having too much fun. I would love them to do those remasters for more episodes too.
Happy 40th Anniversary to Transformers. I can recall of seeing transformers g1 episodes when I was around 8 years old after seeing the film back in 2007 and would go to see the 86 movie and later on the franchise. But I can't help and I enjoy the g1 episodes I was curious of what it about and I was 8 years old at that time and later would share it with my nephews and nieces. Remembering the cartoon in 2008 holds a special place in my heart and I still watch them.
Happy 40th anniversary always love watching a KZreadr who’s been which the franchise since the beginning
me and my lady went to see it! we both luved it. not going to lie! to see bumblebee in Transport to oblivion on a full screen in vehicle mode, was like seeing an actual size VW.
HAPPY 40th ANNIVERSARY TRANSFORMERS!!!! GET TO EXPERIENCE THIS TOMORROW ON THE BIG SCREEN!!!!! THE FIRST 4 EPISODES OF THE ORIGINAL SERIES!!!!!!!!! TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!!!!
I saw it on Wednesday, it was great. I agree, Some of the lazer blasts were too loud but I was 4 yrs old again watching it. Lots of good memories
It was SO much fun! My theater was PACKED!!
Saw it yesterday and I loved it! A few transformers commercials, and then the episode was when the real action began! A special table read with a side by side of the first episode, the other three episodes were normal, but the credits were sped up on episodes 2-4. The in memoriam was good too, and to close out the event, we got the original PSA of Bumblebee, advising children not to run away from home! Did anyone catch the bumblebee PSA at the end of the screening in theaters???? This was fantastic!!!
My son and I went and saw it on Wednesday May 15th. Cool to see it on the big screen.
Frank Todaro was actually pretty good as G1 Starscream. And...we SHOULD HAVE ALREADY HAD a blu-ray release of G1. It would be great if there was another edition of this with the Five Faces of Darkness but I know I'm asking too much (sorry, I'm a S3 fan boy! Rodimus was my guy!)

I love season three but l don't think those FFOD episodes would look too good on a big screen tbf.
That was sure a fun experience with them doing the reading as the cartoon played. I wish they had done that for the all 3 episodes of more than meets the eye and then bring that to DVD! I do wish they had lengthened the blooper real. Think it would have been fun watching the outtakes!
I was speaking with Paul Eiding after I saw the event, he told me they had a lot more bloopers. I should have done a video on my experience, I just didn't have the time.
40th anniversary? Very cool. Many happy returns for TF.
Saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it and especially loved the voice over of the first episode was a chef’s kiss
Just got back from a showing. Much to my surprise, the theater was half full. I thought it would be almost empty. I've seen some negative feedback online but everyone here seemed to have fun. It's the old show, it's 40 years old, if you love it, you love it. If you don't, you don't. Boy, was Arif Kinchen as Jazz phenomenal or what? Give that man a Hong Kong Phooey cartoon. Missed opportunity: Instead of frontloading the presentation with commercials, why not throw one in per commercial break between bumpers? Oh well. I thought those might have been the Rhino masters, mainly because I caught a couple of errant unfamiliar audio effects and (extra) animation errors. Anyway, it was fun and people were into it. The kids that were there seeing it for the first time were really into it. The magic is still there.
I actually went to the theater thinking it was a rerelease of the 1986 movie, I was so confused. But still an interesting experience. Maybe in two years we'll get the movie, I really want to see Unicron on the big screen.

They have shown the movie twice before in theaters for the 30th and the 35th so it's possible.
I feel like having at least one or two of the classic errors such as there appearing two Starscreams at the very end to take command after Megatron is pulled through the space bridge was kind of obligatory as it was an anniversary celebration not a remaster or anything like that. The whole thing was worth it for the table reading alone. Peter Cullen was super impressive alongside Frank Welker of course. Frank Todaro's Starscream was standout and Greg Berger as Spike was downright hilarious. Just seeing them all right there on screen doing the lines, Frank Welker doing Rumble being my personal favourite of the night, was a great experience on the big screen and they all put on a good show to be fair to them even if there was the odd little thing not quite right such as the narration. Not a bad way to spend an evening especially if you grew up with this stuff. Good times.
Seen it today on Saturday and I had fun with the nostalgic trip on big screen
That sounds like a sweet family memory you made
My favourite part was when they were like “We gotta go find Bumblebee!” and there was a clear mistake and he was drawn with the autobots and some guy in the movie theatre yells “He’s right there!” 😂
Happy 40th anniversary Transformers. I completely lost it at the beginning. There were my childhood 😢😢😢
yeah i went to go see it at the local theater and wow what a good time
Went to see it in theaters back on Wednesday. Was pretty good and cool got to see the voice actors on the first episode and the outtakes were cool.
Thanks for the review! The closest participating theater was about 6 hours from me, so... 🤪
Lucky I saw your video. This reminded me that I had tickets to this in under 3 hours! I forgot. Thanks. 😂
I saw it yesterday and it was great. Kinda wished they did a table reading for all 4 episodes instead of just doing the first one

I was glad it was just one tbh...l enjoyed hearing them do it but l had enough of it after the first episode.
For a 40th anniversary they should release the 1986 movie with the extra deleted scenes inserted during the battle for Autobot city . that's how to encourage sales.
I saw it and I greatly enjoyed it loved the blooper reel and In Memoriam at the end. I agree they need to at least release onto KZread the table reading as well as creating a Blu-Ray remaster edition.
Imagine Heavy Metal War being part of the list, and you get that awful Rhino version 😅 Happy for you Rodimus!

Why do Hasbro insist on using the Rhino version of these episodes...it makes absolutely no sense.
Watched it yesterday, really loved this rerelease of the 1st 4 episodes! 💯 Percent agree with special release of a DVD and putting all the original cartoons on Blu-ray. Till all are one!
It’s a good thing you saw G1 in Theaters. I was excited to go see G1 in Theaters, but I showed up to my local theater at the wrong date.
I probably won’t go see this Anniversary showing but I was just telling my wife I will go see Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary. I mean they’ll most likely do it right? The nostalgic feeling would be awesome. Remembering back to (summer?) ‘86. My dad taking my brother and me, tearing up when Prime died, looking over at my dad sleeping halfway through the movie. My wife and I love that theme music by the way. We always bob our heads with it. 😆
Glad you had a great time. It wasn't showing here. Over all sounds like a heart warming story. Also your story proves that the show is for children and still appeals to children. I really wish this was advertised more to children than adults. I have read a lot of reports of smaller theaters like mine not getting it though, or not advertising it well and people going in and thinking it was something else. So glad you got to go see it though.
I actually saw it Saturday, quite enjoyed it, just wish it didn't suddenly end, feel like we should of gotten a thanks for watching or something.
Took my son to see it today as well!!! We really enjoyed the cast read along to the first episode

It certainly was worth going.
I was a little mixed but . My biggest gripe was the fact it wasn't full screen after the 1st episode and even bigger gripe that they didn't have a rescan. Thought they would try and polish it up a little better for a big screen release but it just looked like I was watching my DVDs. The Todaro guy did an fantastic job with Starscream but I wish they just left the original voices go for the guys that have passed away. lol But I will say Greg Burger's fill in for Victor Caroli was pretty bad. lol I'm just glad they only did it for the first episode. Still glad I saw it and hope they release on here so people who missed it can see the voice actors doing their work.
My theatre all growned when they played teb earthspark show.
Happy 40th anniversary Transformers!!!, 40 years of pure enjoyment! Till all are one!!👍🏼🙏🏻🎉🥳
Hey man congratulations on seeing this awesome movie dude. I'm saying that because I won't be able to see it. I really wanted to but I'm one of those people that weren't that lucky. I'm glad you got to experience that. Even though I won't be able to.
This a great idea on Hasbro’s end. I can definitely see them doing this for the anniversaries for some of their more popular movies and shows.
There's nothing like watching the OG series in a theater 👍🏽

It was such a great experience. Seeing Welker and Cullen reading the ep 1 script along Michael Bell and Greg Berger was awesome (was hoping Corey Burton would have been there). I do agree that audio could have been better but still was great overall. I would have wanted to switch out ep 4 for ep 6 (Divide & Conquer)

Great vid man! Thanks for the breakdown!
We went on Saturday. It was fun. The crowd was diverse, but just not "fun". They seemed flat. I like the new voice stuff. Wish you were still local!
Going today at 12 pm in full Transformers gear too!
Seeing it tomorrow with my dad!!!
Saw it yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Took my son to it and he really enjoyed it. Table read was great. Bloopers was funny and boy Frank Todaro and Arif Kinchen as both Starscream and Jazz were spot on. And Frank Welker was having a ball switching between Soundwave and Megatron conversing. Yes, for the 45th anniversary, remaster at least the first 3 episodes so if they show this again in the theater, it'll be set up for the big screen including sound. But maybe they'll do this for the 86 movie in 2 years since that will be the 40th Anniversary for that one! Who knows. The only quibbles, why did they show episode 4? Kinda odd adding an "open-ended" episode. During the commercial bumpers, why not show some of those OG toy commercials. And I know it production cost or schedule thing, why not do the table read for all the episodes? Otherwise, it's been a 40 year ride and hopefully the ride will continue for while......first time commenter, long-time subscriber. My brief thoughts! (y)
We just got nasty weather and widespread power outages in SE TX, so I have my hands full with clean-up and short grocery runs. I shall live virtually through all y'all. I would totally be down for a remastered anniversary edition of these first 4 EPS on home video.
I was smiling the whole way through. Huge mistake if they don't use that new voice work as a bonus on a bluray set. I'd like to see some extended banter footage between the actors, as well as some more interviews.
I was bugging my oldest brother to take me to Downtown LA in the 80s to see TFTM. At the last moment he turned me down. I did watched the movie in Blu Ray with my kids when they were young and that is how they got introduced to Transformers. If I would have known about this I would have gone there in a heartbeat.
Always fun bonding with your kids over shared interests. Ive taken my kids with me to see all the MonsterVerse films, the Shin films, and Godzilla Minus One. We even just watched some Power Rangers team-up episodes just now lol And don't worry. They like Transformers too lol
I thought it was really good and my dad love it as well and I also got the cup and the popcorn bucket as well and the voice lines are really good but funny at the same time.
I thought it was awesome! I thought the screen was too dark and I agree with the sound effects. But to see my favorite animated cartoon on the big screens for the first time ever was awesome. Hope they released the Transformers cartoon movie 2026 for their 40 years keep up the good content until all are one
That must have been something else altogether damn 40 years has really been that long s***🤨🤯
Saw the '86 movie one a few years ago and it was ruined by the theater not realizing the video wasn't working so we missed all the stuff before the movie started and a few minutes into the movie. It was a good thing they had the shorts before the movie on KZread.
Happy Transformers 40th anniversary!! I was there at the theater it’s an amazing experience I was over joyed 😁 Til all are one!
I was planning to go today but they changed the time on me I thought they were all going to show at 7:00 and apparently the ones for today and tomorrow show at noon so I missed it by the time we figured that out hopefully I'll make it tomorrow. And yes I want to see it released on DVD or Blu-ray
