I’m one who has pestered you to do this. It’s absolutely one of Home Free’s masterpieces. This is Chance’s baby. His delivery of this is gorgeous, the harmonies are gorgeous, the video is perfect. Chance and Rob are my favorites ((of course I love them all). Now, wait until you catch their newest release “Vincent”with Don McLean. It is breathtaking- moved me to tears. It’s a song from my high school days, and with HF it’s been elevated to another level.

I love that Chance had the full lead on this one! His voice was perfect for this type of song. Thank you for requesting DJ to react to this. It’s kind of a sleeper request that sometimes doesn’t get enough credit/recognition it so deserves! DJ, thank you for reacting to this! The vocals were brilliant, as was the video perfect for the song. It was Chance’s first full lead. He had partial lead on “Die A Happy Man”, but this one is absolutely gorgeous and let us see and feel his emotions. It’s one of my favorites with Chance’s leads, and all time Home Free favorite in ballads!

@@bethcoussou I sometimes feel that I’m cheerleading for reactors to do Chance leads- I find that fans just don’t seem to recognize him as they do the others. I don’t understand it- Chance has a beautiful voice, and he’s a very emotive singer, with a storyteller quality that is wonderful. Maybe all of us Chance fans need to keep piling on to get him the attention he deserves. This particular song is what endeared him to me.

I feel like this production deserves an award. The arrangement, the harmonies are gorgeous, and the videography with the contrast of black and white with color at just the right moments to create this beautiful and sad story. “And the Oscar goes to . . . “

Chance uses a lot of black and white in his projects. He is a fantastic story teller.

Those small moments are the world when the one you love passes away and you can never have those little moments ever again. This one makes me cry every time it reminds me of my husband who passed away 2 years ago.

This is one of Home Free's sadder songs. Chance's voice is really suited to doing this type of song. I like the video too, where most of it is in black & white with only a few of the personal items that remind him of her are in color.

This one brings tears every time. The small moments become huge when it is too late.

I also realised that he cover one of my favourite HIGHLY underrated Disney songs “Ooh da lally” from Robin Hood. He killed it I only wished it was twice as long!

Home Free is my current favorite group and they prove why with songs like this. Trace Adkins is one of my favorite country artists. I highly recommend checking out his catalog if you can. He has a little bit of everything, things to make you laugh like Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, and Swing, but also stuff that will make you cry your eyes out like Arlington and You're Gonna Miss This.

My favourite thing about Home Free is that they allow and even encourage each others creative growth.

Glad to see you finally got around to checking this out. My fave; tears every time. The poignant moment you mentioned in the song, with Rob and Austin, is that 'church organ effect' they get with their 5-part harmonies. Adam joins in on that, as well, with Tim and Chance provided the grounding notes. I've replayed that segment too many times to mention. Such a creative effort by Chance where every facet of the production resulted in this remarkable video.

I'm so glad you finally got around to this gem. Loved the reaction. This song moves me every time! It actually reminds me of the many barbershop shows my father dragged us kids to for 30 years. Chance outdid himself on this one!

Something about this song makes it so in addition to being about a breakup it could also be about someone who has passed away. That feeling hit me like halfway in, and I was surprised. I know that may not have been the intent when it was written but I think it can also speak to how you might feel when someone's passed away, and things you should have done, etc. Very well done. I don't know how I've been a Home Free fan for so long and overlooked this one. The harmonies, and the sustain notes, and the emotion, all just incredible. Also the background when Austin and Rob were singing that part at the end that you commented in really made what they were doing land so much harder. It takes a special skill to be able to sing in a storytelling fashion like that and Chance's voice is perfect for it. I am the biggest fan when it's all of them singing and Adam Rupp takes a beatboxing break. I am the biggest fan of his beatboxing, but when it's just them without it, it's something else.

I've always loved this song; Chance's lead is on point, and the backing vocals are stunning. But finding out that Chance directed this as well, adds another level of poignancy to the piece. I would love to eventually put out some edited versions but with the amount of editing that would need to go into it, I can't manage it currently, possibly if I get to the stage of KZread full time I could manage it or if I employed an editor but not currently unfortunately

Trace (and it's pronounced like you're tracing something) isn't quite as deep bass as Tim but really close so Chance or Tim are the perfect ones for anything by Trace.

No, he is still married to Sami. But was in a relationship with someone else when he joined HF.
