It really amazes me how much food Joe can have in such short time before the sessions so that he can properly digest it and not feeling like having an interrupted digestion all the time!

Yeah I can literally eat something and then go straight into it. A guy I used to train with used to swear by having fish and chips before a track session as he said if you can run on that you’ll have no problem in an Ironman! 😂

I need at least 3 hours after eating before I train! I guess it's just about how you've trained your body over the years. It's probably that you've trained your body to rely on the immediate glucose in your bloodstream rather than what's in storage. I guess either can work but I think I know which is better for you long term.

@@richardmiddleton7770 don’t think its whatbive trained myself to do. If you had to wait 3 hours after eating before you trained it would be impossible to get a big volume of training in as you would be constantly waiting and doing nothing and also I reckon you would struggle to enough calories in to fuel big days. Ive never had a problem training after eating.

@@joeskipper91 I meant 3 hours for a meal. A banana or a spoonful of nut butter is fine immediately before for me. I actually did 7.5hr ride the other day (125 miles) completely fasted, only water and salt so my body is pretty good at using what it already has stored from the day before. It's all trainable. I'd rather not have that constant fueling as an extra thing to think about.

@@richardmiddleton7770 my body is similar to yours: my body uses stored glycogen and body fat to fuel super long training sessions even with hard sessions thrown in. Works well for me as I can’t train so soon after eating like Joe “buffet” skipper does

Soo good to see an honest pro actually showing the amount of fuel it takes for such hardcore training program instead of a smoothie, half a salad and a few leafs like some of those pros say they eat. Take note people to be a pro sone of us need to eat loads :) in my opinion

If I ate that much food in a day I would be doubled over in CRAMPS and would have to sit on the toilet for 45 min. I eat about 1 to 2 meals per day between 10AM and 2PM ( intermittent fasting) and I have a truck load of energy. I run approx. 25 miles per week between 7:15 and 9 min per mile pace.
