@@BreakingInTheHabit How do you managed to stay focused? Admittedly for me it has happened many times. It's hard when a lot is going on in your life or in your head. And many times I tend to dwell on the problem. Sometimes, I really cannot form words in my head. I feel like I'm coming to him crying and I can't form sentences. But there are times when it's hard to pray because there is this current problem I am facing and for months I was losing hope... I then get distracted and wondered if God was really there. It also became discouraging to attend mass. But after reflecting why this current problem is happening in my life, I now try to go back to praying. The thing is, I realized he was always there. There were just some unfortunate events along the way but he was just there. Other times though when I do catch myself thinking of other unimportant things, I go back immediately. I need to work on that.

Ah the host hit my tooth by accident, hope the priest doesn't think I'm weird. Ok, focus time on Jesus, kneel in the pew, thank you Jesus for the Church and ooooh what am I eating after this, NO NO Jesus, I want to devote everything to you, I will make the most of life including talking to my brother... but he did that one thin- no no! I will show him love. Sacred silence sacred silence... What's the priest doing now? OH yeah clean clean clean." Literally have to talk myself outta the distractions. hahah

In reality, the differences between Orthodox and Catholic have a lot less to do with theology than it does with authority, ritual, and ecclesiology. Protestants represent a rupture in the worldview of Catholicism, deep fissures that create major chasms. Orthodoxy maintains the same dogmas and essential doctrines as Catholicism (there are *a few* differences, but mostly in style rather than form), but we have major divisions over the papacy, language, and frankly, petter humanity.

You only have to wait an hour between eating or drinking and receiving communion, so perhaps have a cup of coffee an hour before you go.
Blessings my brother
Love the honesty...😊
The last one should be said at every mass. You're here to serve God and his flock
God chooses the priest. HE sees something particular in some men. That's why it's called " chosen"
That was beautiful 🙏
Can't wait to try it as a priest
Lmaooo do you ever get prayer ADHD like, you're praying and then your mind wanders elsewhere and you're like "Oh, sorry God. Where was I?" 😂

I usually suffer from those when I'm finally able to just sit in the pews. I always hope I will be able to be in the moment those rare instances when I don't have another task to perform during mass. Ironically it seems I am better able to focus on the eucharistic prayer when I serve as acolyte, sing in the choir or when I am the technician livestreaming the service. It's like I need to be busy in order to be able to focus on God.

@@rvdb7363 Ooh! I guess praying can still take the form of when you're doing stuff. I also sang for choir before and sometimes I guess there is still some form of communication through music. And at the same time I get to have fun!

Honestly there are times where I look at the rat race and it all feels pointless and I consider walking into the nearest Catholic Church and just telling the nearest priest that I want to do what they do, and ask to be taught. I’m genuinely, and admittedly, a bit envious of how much you are able to devote your lives to God.
I am sure my priest is still on the 100th😂
Very nice. Pleased to be very active in the Episcopal Church where ALL baptized receive the Eucharist.
Awesome 💯😎
The first one was my favorite 😁
Amen, Amen
Just got confirmed this year and as a layperson still trying to make sure I'm doing the mass right, it's so relatable. haha Especially during the sacred silence moments or taking the eucharist. "Am I going to kneel this time? Am I going to take it by hand? Oh no it's my turn make a decision! Ok kneel, uh am I staring at the priest weird? Ah the host hit my tooth by accident, hope the priest doesn't think I'm weird. Ok, focus time on Jesus, kneel in the pew, thank you Jesus for the Church and ooooh what am I eating after this, NO NO Jesus, I want to devote everything to you, I will make the most of life including talking to my brother... but he did that one thin- no no! I will show him love. Sacred silence sacred silence... What's the priest doing now? OH yeah clean clean clean." Literally have to talk myself outta the distractions. hahah
My internal monologue: "Go in.peace To love and To serve the Lord" me. 55 seconds. "I got to say Mass today, wait did I say Mass? Where ought I be? Aahhh!" Thank God I am not a priest. Sincerely in Xto Mike B. B. From Philly, P.A. U.S.A.
Beautiful
Accept me as imperfect as I am .

Amazing mystery ❤
A priest is thinking about god - he’s doing his job. A priest doubts the existence of god - he may be onto something.
Amen Amen. Perfect Mass.
Our Monseignor celebrated his 60th ordination last December, when I asked he said he has most likely celebrated Mass > 20k times!
..a beautiful ritual.
This is why I always go to mass.
I really wonder what it would have been like if I had answered God's Call 🤔
We are men, we all know we can't speak and think at the same time.
Why would you admit that all you have is "the right words," and "what should I cook tonight?"
Sanctus comes and I worry if I have confused the blessing of bread with the blessing of wine

Many priests really doubt what they do during consecration, and question what they have been taught since it grates against the reality of the character of the Biblical God!

Yes, the same sacrifice we're offering to the Father.
This is a Disgrace! You’re telling people that you think Consecrating the Host, is about as important as your chores, which you are daydreaming about, during the sacrifice of the Mass. No wonder people are filing their nails, and not paying attention at Mass! This is Heartbreaking. I’m not sure why you are doing this, but I’m very sure that it is deliberate.

The quality of the mass has nothing to do with the priest's performance and everything to do with Christ.
Why does all of this earthly stuff matter? The remembrance of him and belief in Jesus matters not all this extra stuff ngl Catholics seem a lot like the Pharisees of Jesus time getting stuff right but focusing to much on earthly traditions
Do the words in the book change much? As a Protestant, I'm always surprised how much priests have to keep reading from the book. Not being critical, just inquisitive.

There are different prayers every week, and the most important prayers require that we not get a single word wrong, so it’s good to read everything. More to the point of this video, it’s easy for our minds to wander, so having the book grounds us and keeps us focused.

U can't be THiAT nervous, Come on.
That’s why ex opera operato is so important😂
During Priestley training, do seminarians ever rehearse these lines?
Thats messing it up. Cant imagine doing this at mass in person

Just waiting until it all goes back to Latin mumbo-jumbo and no one will ever know anyway what you're mumbling.
It’s so beautiful🥹
Jesus said I am the bread of the life. not some random wafer. if you think fingering some beads and rote recitation is what God is all about then you are sorely mistaken Romans 2:11 “For there is no respect of persons with God.”
