I think it’s me for someone to establish The Patti LaBelle Award because she has true longevity over a lot of people. She has seen them come she has seen them go. She has nurtured Artists and gotten them to better places. She is by far the ultimate legend.

I remember this. There's no way some one did not see Tyrese, Genuine, Johnny Gil, and El DeBarge did not have their act together during rehearsal. They all had to be intimidated by the legends Luther Vandross and Ron Isley. This was six solo acts trying to get together and sing lead, but they clashed. Luther and Ron were superb, but the other four needed to stay in the audience as super fans who could have brought Patti a bouquet of flowers. I love Ms LaBelle.💖 🎤🎶🎵🎧🙌

I was 15 at the time of Aaliyah’s death and there are no words for how tragic that was… I remember how long the sadness effect lasted thinking about her… As an adult now, it has come full circle on how devastating the death was to the music industry, her peers, and the ones that paved the way for her… I remember Whitney Houston mentioned being devastated about her plane crash as well as a few other entertainers…

one of the last, truly great tributes that Ive seen...all the screamin and wigglin' that Johnny Gill was doin, flyin thru the air like he was a paratrooper, was totally uncalled for...nor did I care much for the Tyrese, and El Debarge portion of their tribute. But Luther Vandross and Mr Isley, picked up the slack like two pros and made the tribute very fitting. And Whoopi Goldberg doesn't rol outta bed to give tribute to ANYONE..so this was very cool.
