  Each time I watch Oprah's Legends Ball, I am so glad that the women who are no longer with us got a chance to get their flowers while they lived: Coretta Scott King Maya Angelo Dr. Dorothy Height Ruby Dee Diahann Carroll Natalie Cole Tina Turner Aretha Franklin and Rosa Parks were invited, but were unable to attend.

  THIS GROUP IS AH-SUM! (They ALL were!) I Thoroughly enjoyed their performance! HATED the bass player tho! He just didn't have the right 'feel', was ALL OVER the place in everybody's 'way' and diffusing the "Dynamics" that would've soooo :Augmented" the show! He stepped all over them and flooded each song with unnecessary distraction! THESE girls 'BANGED'!! Don't like shedding a negative vibe, just a serious musician who Highly respects and is Very sensitive to Music, it's flow, dynamics, and the effectiveness of its chemistry, esp. when it hits its "pocket" You can still enjoy this, and I DO, but his musical 'ramblings' so unnerved me! The Supremes are Too GOOD!!! They deserved so much better, like having their shows showcased, the whole Works!

  I come from Detroit, my dad was on the road in sales for Motown, as a little girl I was lucky enough to meet her. Gladys Knight and Diana Ross treated me like a little princess

  Loved the Temptations vs. Four Tops segment. Looking back while the Temptations song their song, Levi tried acting like he wasn’t empress but couldn’t help but smile, Dennis practically did the same when the Tops sang. Funniest part was when Dennis started the song ‘Can’t Get Next To You’ Obe of the Four Tops rushed up to Dennis and sung Melvin’s part. Melvin acted like he was upset. 😀 Also Michael did make the moment as a brother not just a performer when he realized Jermaine’s mike wasn’t on and just went over to him with his for his solo. Still an unfortunate moment, Jermaine performing with the brothers again and his famous solo part in ‘I’ll Be There’ you didn’t hear his beginning “and ohhhh . . . “ because his mike wasn’t working.

  That is wrong. It was Betty McGowan who was the last to join the group. Also it was Flo and Paul Williams who first got Mary then Diana and finally Betty.

  Love the medley at the end with Bob. Hope! If Motown promoted this lineup of the Supremes, I think they would have stood a chance. Mixing a blend of traditional showtunes with their latest hit. Genius!
