Because Aretha did a song with him shortly after Patti and her manager husband didn’t want to make it seem like she was tryin to outdo anyone so they took the interview down where she mentioned that she was afforded many opportunities that she turned down in the early years of her solo career but after the Deborah Cox song Nobody’s supposed to be in 1998 where she turned down she changed her mind about not taking risks so that is why we saw such a shift in her career after her husband manager was no more.

Yes that's a song my great aunt says since my grandmother's passing she feels on her own. Now that my son is gone I understand her more than ever. I so wish I could go back to the time of this actual show. They both was still here. Damn I miss them both

My goodness. Singing On my own... Micheal and Patti's chemistry is amazing. He knew when to fall back and when to hit those notes. Patti is a powerhouse. Artists who sing with her have to understand how she works for it to work. Compliment her range....dont challenge it. Beautiful performance.

Patti is 61 here... OMG - 61, this power and voice. She still sounds like 30. I think today there is no single female singer who can sing in her 60s like in her 30s. Even Mariah, which stills sings very good, lost her voice.

The only one I know of who is close to her age and on her level is Tina Turner. She could definitely hang. Maybe Gladys. Aretha is gone to be with the angels(teaching THEM how to sing) and Dionne, I believe, has gotten too old now(God bless her talent) Whitney is gone too(she could've hung as well).

Are there any recordings of Patti La Belle & Aretha Franklin? The two most Fantastic singers of our time. Also Witney Houston, did she ever record any songs with Ms. La Belle? So glad the I've been able to enjoy all of these Icons & their musical genius!!
