Hi, i’m Fujii Kaze fan in Japan! Enjoyed your reaction so much. His voice, melody, lyrics, piano, facial and body movement, all these expresses his uniqueness. Please react to more of his songs, like Nan-Nan(his debut song) MV filmed in NY, Matsuri(festival)MV and live at Panasonic Stadium version, Mo-E-Wa MV! You will find different types of music.

Here's a rundown you didn't quite ask for but imma give it to ya anyway: Yes, all his songs are written by him. And they don't sound much like one another. He's also written a song for another artiste and will likely be writing more for others in the future. He does a lot of pure vocals these days but he's actually a pianist first and he's absolutely fantastic at playing and singing at the same time. As you can see, he can command the stage wonderfully with a band but when it's just him and a piano, it's even more powerful and incredible, and sublime. He's classically trained but evolved into jazz at a pretty young age (apparently just couldn't follow piano scores and had to literally jazz things up, even when he was little, which drove his teacher nuts) and has absolute pitch, innate groove and the amazing multitasking ability of playing absolutely bonkers chord progressions and scales while singing with incredible soulfulness at the same time. He doesn't even need to look at the keyboard, he can play it blind. And probably in just about any position. But that's only his talent as a performer. His songwriting ability is something else altogether, as you can already tell from this one song alone. This guy is the real deal. And yes, he's an incredibly handsome fella as well, with cheekbones and jawline for days, and could probably make it as a model if he didn't have music, but believe it or not, his amazing good looks are quite possibly the least amazing thing about him, paling in comparison to his massive, massive talent. Oh and he does ah-may-zing covers, almost all of which he copied by ear and gave it his own arrangement, making the covers both his own but without losing an iota of the original sound.

@@vspirit That's fantastic! I heard this song from 2021 Kohaku with Misia-san and Kaze-san's collaboration stage. But I didn't know it was written by Kaze himself! No wonder I love the song and lyrics from the first hearing :)

I learned of this song from a video shots soon as he opened his mouth I was like who is this? Found the song and been loving it and then I saw this video made me love it more. A live performance always makes or breaks a song for me. I’m like you I love the scatting part then he took the chorus up an octave and intensified it that’s me favorite part of song

I really loveeee Fujii Kaze's songs. Immediately became a fan once I listened to his two songs - this one and Matsuri. But really, his whole discography is amazing. I hope you can react to his other songs too. I don't know your taste in music so I'll blindly recommend fans' favorites, Matsuri, Grace and Kirari. All are melodious and cheerful vibes. For a more melancholy vibe, I'd recommend Kaero, Seishun Sick or Yasashita. Last but not least, my personal favourites are Damn and Hedemo Ne Yo, both very upbeat, librating songs with amazing lyrics! Thank you~

I just gasped when I saw you react to this. Being in Japan, I love your rare forays into our content (and yes, I appreciate that stuff gets blocked). I swear Fujii Kaze came out of nowhere around the beginning of the pandemic and was just suddenly huge. Then recently, I started seeing this song on KZread and TikTok edits everywhere. Random Japanese note... The title is Shinu no ga ii/ee wa (死ぬのがいいは) which means "It is okay to die" or as they translated it, "I would rather die". Then the part where he says, ”watashi no saigo wa anata ga ii," is a pun, because saigo can be written as 最後 or 最期. The first one means "last" and the second one means "end of life", so that sentence sounds like both, "I want you to be my last" and "It is okay if you are the end of me". Japanese Culture note... The venue he is performing at is legendary. The name Nippon Budokan translates to something like, "Japan Martial Arts Hall". It is the premiere judo venue in Japan. It hosted judo at both the 1964 and the 2020 Olympics and at the 2020 Paralympics. But it is also a legend for its concerts. The Beatles were the first rock group to perform there and ABBA wrapped up their final live tour there back in 1980. Everybody from Pink Floyd to Duran Duran to Ozzy Osborne to Eric Clapton has recorded concerts there. AND, it is right across the road from the Imperial Palace. All that to say, if you play at the Nippon Budokan, you are also legendary.
