    Yes and no. It’s also heavily dictated by economic supply and demand factors. America has some of the sickest people in the world because we are the most unhealthy. With all due respect to this gentleman, he’s not trying not taking responsibility for his own health. Clearly extremely over weight. Imagine him losing 100lbs, cutting out all junk and consistently exercising… he might “cure” himself. But yet, it’s obvious he’s doing non of that. When you times that by a 100 MILLION people… you get extreme prices.. Everything comes at a price.

    Would love to see long-term followups on these patients. I don't doubt the the medical system failed this man and that the adjustment provided immediately pain relief, however I am skeptical about the efficacy of these treatments long-term. That being said, I'd love to see evidence proving me wrong since that'd mean a lot of people in pain may be able to get relief without expensive and potentially risky surgery.

    It will get the joints mobile, and a moving joint is how nutrients and oxygen get in there; however without the patient adding a daily movement practice it won't be a long-term fix. Personally if my joints are stuck it makes my movement practice difficult and impossible in some yoga poses, so it's more like unlocking potential with a side of serious instant relief which is worth the price of admission.

  • @BakoBoi

    @BakoBoi

    Herniated discs (as this gentleman had) generally will heal on their own as long as they aren't being irritated or pinched. What an adjustment like this will do is relieve the pressure on the disc so it can start getting back where it should be and healing. Some follow-up adjustments may be necessary, but as others have said, as long as he keeps to a mobility regimen and - importantly - tries to avoid doing what caused the issue in the first place, his long-term should be very, very good.

When you go to the hospital, you can receive all kinds of treatments, including surgery, for free from very good doctors. Additionally, medications are provided free of charge by the government. I don't doubt you as to what you are saying. Many people say the same. However, just as many people tell me that if they had it to do over, they would hold off on an operation as long as possible, because everything changed for the worse, afterwords. My brother being chief among them. At 63, I need to find a way to stretch my ability to do semi manual construction work, for a few more years. My question to you would be, how long did the adjustment actually work for you, before it didn't?

    @@fultonbenjamin9022 i started to have problems when I was 25, and it got very bad after one year and a half. From there I started physiotherapy and adjustments, another 2 years passed and then I had to do surgery. I wanted to do it even earlier but the neurosurgeons said to me to postpone the operation until I could because it was a pretty invasive operation anyway and I was still young (for me it was in the neck, they fused c4-c5), and everyone of them adviced me to avoid getting manipulated with erniated discs. Some month after I had to do it, i could do it for free in a hospital near my town (I live in italy) but I decided to pay and go in one of the best hospitals because i was 29 and I wanted to be in the safest hands possible for that kind of operation. After the surgery I was imemdiately good as new without any physiotherapy

    Unbelievable. In Australia, if you go through the Medicare system, it would be free. If it was declared as elective surgery, you would go on the waiting list. If it was deemed urgent, you would be on the table within a few days.

    @steve9618. You are right, it's not free, we pay for it via our taxes. Australia and most other countries with subsidied health systems are democracies so if the public are unhappy with the system, they can change it via their government. Our experience in Australia is that the party in power keeps the system because they know it's what the electorate wants. They may make adjustments from time to time, but the basic system remains.

    Keep in mind that chiropractors are not actually licensed medical doctors they just call themselves doctors because they have a doctorate degree. There is no evidence that chiropractic adjustments actually do anything other than mild temporary pain relief. Any serious issues a chiropractor could help with a physical therapist could help with much more effectively. Chiropractors prey on you by telling you that they are the only ones that can help you, meanwhile all they’re doing is having you pay them to pop pockets of nitrogen between your bones (which you could do on your own with regular exercise and stretching) and then they tell you that you have to keep coming back and paying them to do that. They end up making tons of money off of you as you’re kept in a state where you feel like you need the chiropractics to feel normal.

    I’m glad this man got relief. I also hope the relief helps him become more active and lose weight, which I’m sure contributes to his back issues. I see a lot of back injuries in my line of work. Back issues turn into weight gain which worsens the back issue. Worse yet, back issues make physical activity hard, which also prevents weight loss.
