WH40k Armor Build Part 3 - Cosplay Vambraces, Gauntlets, Couters

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here's how I made the arm armor for my award-winning Warhammer 40k Sister of Battle cosplay! This video focusts on the vambraces, couters, and gauntlets. It's all made out of EVA foam or foam clay, with a few 3d printed parts and googley eyes. Enjoy, and happy crafting!

I really enjoy watching tutorials for how parts such as these are made. Especially love when experienced makers admit they f**ked up and had to redo things; it gives me hope that I can do it too.

Have you thought about a hypodermic needle and insert resin r blue into the googly eyes so the rattle won't happen?

I haven’t! That’s a pretty good idea, I’ll try it! It’d be much faster than prying the backs off of all of them

When I wear my black undersuit there’s a enough friction and it’s a tight enough fit to not spin at all. Its also shaped slightly oval and not completely circle like my forearm

Omg, she's the most perfect thing I've ever seen. Judge me idc, I'm no simp or misogynist, I'm in love. It irritates me that as a women you're incapable of being successful in this community without objectifying yourself, and creating seductive cosplay. How the hell does this woman not have hundreds of thousands of followers? This is spectacular. In the process of attempting to learn this art, so I can make my kids legends next Halloween. They really desire to attend the cosplay events here in Seattle this year as well. I've been slowly accumulating products throughout the year, but I think I'd be better off hiring someone to draw out templates; at the very least, because this is infinitely more difficult than the cosplay community is espousing... I dig it, and you should do a tutorial from a start to finish, with a basic space marine armor set that I can follow, and be the hero that my children deserve lol. More than anything I desire to make them proud, and just thinking about it makes me emo.

Hey! I was wondering how you attached the elbow pieces to the rest of the arm?

They were originally put on with just pressure because I made the worbla nice and tight. But they eventually started dropping. They’re now secured with hot glue. I chose hot glue so I could build up some bulk because the sides didn’t lie totally flat so other glues were ripping off. They’ve been super secure ever since 👍

How does this material hold out against bumps and knocks. Can it handle any type of impact?

  • @SundaySlaysCosplay

General bumps and knocks it holds up very well. I did rip a googley eye off the hand when trying to hold a very relentless elevator door open. But other than that no dings. It’s not up for any real battle though a whack from a real sword would dent the foam

@@SundaySlaysCosplay Thankyou for the heads up, trying to find a malleable material to allow for "some" weapon play. But clearly EVA is the way to go for looks as yours is spot on. 👌

@@12G_Pyro I’ve made armor for a short film that had to stand up to complex stunts and weapon play. I made that out of 3d printed PLA, worbla, and leather. You could always cover Eva foam with worbla (a thermoplastic that gets soft when heated) and that would hold up as it turns hard when cooled. Just don’t leave it in the sun 😊
