How I built my WH40k Sister of Battle - Part 1

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Let's build some armor! This is the first video of this series of how I built my Adepta Sororitas cosplay. It took me a year to complete the entire costume and I'd like to share with you the creative and technical process of creating a full armor build.

This girl schooled me on 40k lore about this costume. Was super impressed by the attention to detail and craft. She’s a proper sister of battle

Haha! Thank you so much!! 😊 40k lore is so fun to get into, I don’t even play the board game (tabletop war games aren’t really my thing) but I absolutely love how in-depth the lore is as well as love playing the various games. Being called a proper Adepta Sororitas is 🙌🙌🙌

Nice work, I like the amount of detail you've put on this. Also, using googly eyes for rivets is an awesome idea. No-one will know that you're staring at them with dozens of hidden eyes.... you should come up with an excuse to make something where all the googly eyes get added last and are there freaking people out :)

This inspired me to maybe get into cosplay myself, as I'm loving the 40k lore and then started to build minis and now it dawned on my I might wanna try to cosplay a sister of battle.. but I have no idea where to start, I never did a cosplay before.. but I'm determined! ^-^ (May I ask if you used high or low density foam? And in general.. how does one make these patterns. It is a bit overwhelming qwq) Also sorry for being so awkward in asking judt like that but.. if someone knows it would be you I guess qwq

Modeling patterns is a huge challenge, I'm glad you included the redo of the pauldron position and explained why. Did you use Barge Thinner to remove the pauldron? I've use that in past (thanks to Evil Ted) and it's left the connection fairly clean.

I didn’t have it then, but at the time I ordered it and it’s now in my crafting arsenal for future mistakes (I’m sure there will be plenty) Of course I didn’t wait for it to arrive 🤦‍♀️ I used an exact-o and cut through the barge, which clearly left marks as you could see. But luckily the way I reattached you couldn’t tell and the only exposed part of the removal was about an inch on the back neck 👍

Just regular ol’ PLA! Just make sure you heat up the whole thing evenly and be careful when you touch it because you have to get it pretty hot to be able to form. Gloves help because it wants to snap back to its printed state so you need to hold it until it has cooled
