I am now 94 most of my walking in The Peak District It brought back memories it’s not always like that hope you go back again loyd of great places different than the Lake District Fred

The classic gate gag, always makes me chuckle. Love all those weathered rocks in the Peaks, yeah very like Brimham Rocks, I remember visiting them when we were staying in Nidddddderdale as we loved to pronounce it.

As everyone else is saying, great seeing you in the Peaks! Woolpacks is by far my favourite wild camp spot although it’s busy, practically a campsite in summer these days.

Heading back home (North Uist in Outer Hebrides) from seeing family in Cambridgeshire, had to go for hike and a nights wild camping up T'north (Lake District) en route. All cosy in me sleeping bag and listening to the rain, I thought I'd watch a couple of your videos - thought you summed it up nicely in this one...Living the dream! Absolutely!

After watching (and enjoying) many of your videos, I managed to source the gsi minimalist to pair with my soloist, after a few months of use, can I say what a great addition it is!, thought I’d share that with you (😴) what an amazing little setup it really is 👍 love the sippy cup in a tent…. I’ve been minus the tea/coffee stains a little while now! Another enjoyable video 👌

Well I only ever use my GSI set up as I’m not sure there is better.

Another interesting video, the boulders were brilliant the hot chocolate and coffee interesting and blue would be manky if he'd gone

Great to see you my neck of the woods 😊many good camps up there. Great video again. Just not sure of you hot drink selection 😄 one of the other in my opinion. Chocolate last drink of the night 👍🏻

Your videos are great! Blue is amazing and your kit reviews are spot on. You know what I like the best though.. it's when you urge people to just be present! Just to stop and pay attention to everything. We all seem to need constant distractions :)

Yes it’s definitely how I’ve always kept a happy soul.

Besides going to Matlock on a school residential, I've also never visited the Peak District. I don't know why but I just find it much easier to travel north from where I live. More sceneic route I guess. When you were up on those rocks, my first thought was, they are not a patch on Brimham Rocks. 😅 Some of them did look rather cool though, especially the one with the peaked cap. Nice to see you somewhere new. Thanks Al. 👊

I've been walking many times across the Roaches and Ramshaw Rocks near Leek and Dragons Back near Buxton. Used to be my backyard before moving up to Cumbria 12 years ago.

Good to see you out in my neck of the woods, I’ve walked up that way and camped on top of Kinder a few times myself. Also glad to see you didn’t bring your potty mouth with you from the Lake District video last week 😂

Clarty! Grim! Those views would look so much better if the sun was belting down! I lived in Derbyshire Dales for quite a few years. I prefer walking along dales rather than up Peaks! I look forward to joining you up every hill I haven’t been up 😎

You don’t need to spend that money unless you have to save weight and packsize. It is awesome stuff but better for the extreme expeditions

My home turf❤. Alport castles was wild on Friday. Car temp said it was 16 degrees when we got back to the car. Mental for February.

If you want a healthy crouton style crunch then smash up some Nairn's Gluten Free Original Oatcakes. I break them in the packet and then mix them in with veg and tuna-mayo. Some wonderful scenery, up there. Thank you for another beautiful video.

Yeah I like them. They used to have a cheese one but I can’t ever find it.

Great video. I went to the peak district about ten years ago. It was in summer, I remember it being dryer than now but still plenty of peat bogs (like Dartmoor😂). I really like the down jacket, but I'm not sure about half of a sleeping bag!

Crikey I am glad I found a pitch on Tuesday night as I was up there then, its a busy spot Woolpacks - you were definitely moving faster than my ode body 😄 but I like to think back to the days when fear wasn't an option as also been in some scary spots in my younger days in the Alps and Himalayas - some interesting kit you are using, I have never heard of PH Designs so will be checking them out - thanks

Nice one mate, love it up there. Familiar territory for us. There's a couple of cracking cycle climbs there too if you happen to bring your bike at some point. Winnats pass and Mam Nick are both brutal as well as the almost impossible Bamford Clough a little further down the road 😎👍

I think climbers years ago christened that area of weirdly shaped rocks 'Whipsnade', after the zoo, thinking of the rocks as surreal animals. Love Kinder Scout. There's so much to explore: Grindsbrook, Kinder Downfall, the Kinder river, Kinder Gates, etc., etc. Fantastic under snow.

Nice video mate, pH designs stuff is top notch isn't it 👌. I've not been hiking in the peak district, done a bit of cycling there, may have to try a laal trip in the summer for a wander and a camp. Keep up the good work and look forward to the next video 👊👌

Still amazes me Al how much you can fit into a rucksack. But then again I have seen first hand how much the PHD kit compresses down. Watching that sleeping bag disappear into the Thermarest stuff back was like watching a magic trick. Now you see it, now you don’t 🤣🤣

I'm from Sheffield, it's on my doorstep so to speak and had many a drenching up there, apart from one proper scare trying to take a shortcut down a really narrow ravine in bad weather cos I was desperate to get off and down! Got stuck and I think you can guess how I felt. Ended up going back up to the summit even more wet, knackered and with legs full of lactic acid....the joys of kinder on a bad day....😂

Plenty of good spots up there including Woolpacks. And yes most of it is just Peat. Welcome to the Peaks! Like you say. Not quite the Lakes but its pretty good! Stratos is my goto bag for minimalistic summer camping or bivvying. Decent and tough bag.

You might have been better at the Pym Chair my friend, camped there a few times, always an amazing spot for both sunsets and rises, nice vid, woolpacks is a surreal place, very eerie

I was up there yesterday was a brilliant walk did just short of 10 mile starting from kinder reservoir round kinder down it was so slippy going down was funny 😂

That was Kinder Scout you were on btw - my local hill 45 mins away! A good tip for a brilliant breakfast back in Edale is Newfold Farm campsite cafe. Good food in Ye Olde Nag’s Head pub too.
