This is what happens when a small group of fans elect themselves as spokespeople for the rest, organise a march, keep the rest in the dark, then cancel it, leaving the rest full of anger and frustration and with no voice. It was inevitable something was gonna happen, the first Burnley goal was the catalyst for so much unresolved energy having to come out. Not saying that the pitch invasions were the fault of anyone but the individuals involved but turning on the board and walking out early was probably the only way the fans had left to voice themselves. I expect Jim White and co will have a field day with this and I bet they won't question how shabby the stewarding is. Relegation, here we come.

I’d love to know Geo’s reasons for being a West Ham fan, to make the trip from Scotland to London for most games is remarkable support, much respect

Hold on just a minute. A sum total of what, four people (?) invaded the pitch. No one was looking to cause any harm to the players. Not for one second do I condone any of it but it’s not as if it was a malevolent action. What about the pitch invasions with thousands of fans when teams stay up on the last day? Should those cause points deductions and then subsequent relegation? Different reasons and circumstances of course but neither is threatening towards the players.

Thanks for the video. Fans want change but unfortunately the cancellation of the march cut off a positive way to express that. We're in a mess now.

Don’t envy you doing this today after one of the worst days I’ve ever experienced as a West Ham fan. Only glad I got out in one piece and pleased you all did as well. I know this is “just a game” but the repercussions of this could be immense. I can never remember when there has been this much antagonism between our own fans. Whether the team can pull themselves together in this environment remains to be seen, but there are bigger and longer term issues to be dealt with than simply trying to stay in the PL come May. Look forward to your cup of tea session un the week

I feel we lost today because of the fan discontent. Whether it should or shouldn't have affected the players is irrelivent. It did. On one hand, I'm happy the board didn't get away with the march being cancelled. However the way we imploded after one goal could have been avoided had the protests held off. If we'd then gone two or three down, you could argue that 10-15 minutes at the end would have been worth it. But the way it went down, we threw it away and probably damanged our chances of picking up any more points at the London Stadium for the rest of the season. I find it hard to see us getting any more points, and if we get a points deduction, that's the nail in the coffin.

A very fair assessment. Well done lads.We should have been 1 nil up at least. Both Arne and Lanzini missed sitters before they scored. We lost our heads when the wanker ran onto the pitch. Inadequate stewarding and police was inexplicable when tensions were running high weeks before this game.

Now BBC are saying the demonstrations were not spontaneous but the fights etc were used to get security staff away from the Board box. There will be more police and security at next game. If this was oeganised then this has all moved to a new level and it won't just end.

What we are seeing is mindless thugs potentially putting us down! The 2nd goal was immediately after a fan on the pitch. the players are useless, heartless... The most passion I have seen from Noble this season was when he grabbed that fan! And you put it ALL down to the move? Wow!

Games behind closed doors would be THE ultimate kick in the teeth for Messrs Sullivan, Gold & Brady. This brave new era and you've cultivated a situation that results in this "amazing legacy" being empty for a Premier League fixture. How's that for the most successful stadium migration in history?

Taking into account what has happened I think West Ham fans reacted in the right way... I've seen no major fan incited incidents. What I did see was the disgraceful behavior by Mark Noble against a fan who was just running on the pitch. The fan was not threatening anybody, nor was he running in the direction of anyone, he was just protesting. Mark Noble went out of his way to tackle the kid and throw him to the ground. Mark Noble has disgraced himself, the Club he plays for, and the people who pay his salary. Anyway, tough waters ahead for you guys. All the best from a Spurs fan who has always had a huge amount of respect for West Ham United, its fans, and its Firm, Cheers.
