Were Corn Flakes Really Invented To Curb Sexual Appetites?

Ойын-сауық

As you pour milk in your cereal bowl every morning, you might not even be fully awake yet, and you probably haven't thought much about the origins of corn flakes. After all, it's a pretty simple, unassuming cereal as far as the modern plethora of sugar-coated options go - some might even call them bland. But the question “Why were corn flakes invented?” actually leads to some shocking (and disturbing) answers.

Corn Flakes were invented by his brother Will Kellogg not John Kellogg, John invented a granola type cereal, but the corn flakes recipe was Will's and he actually did it by accident. John and Will had a falling out because John didn't want to market the cereal and only after the Sanitarium burned to the ground did he agree to sell Will the rights to the recipes. At one point John tried to start selling his own version under the same Kellogg name but Will sued him and won the right to be able to use the name.

Um, yes, this man was insane. He flagrantly ignored his obligations to his wife, but engaged in self abuse at least five times a day... Because, um, politely, he thought it necessary to use the toilet at least five times a day. I'm unsure how he handled the need for reams of bathroom tissues.

2:46 - As I've never seen two female cows get it on before, I had to google it: Bulling is a behaviour seen in cattle when one mounts another, usually when one or the other is a female in oestrus (on heat);[1] "bulling" is commonly used as a term for a female in oestrus. Female cattle in oestrus may mount any adult cattle, especially a bull (fertile male) if one is present, but they will also mount castrated males or other females. A bulling female will often also be mounted by other cattle, both male and female (only fertile males are usually capable of mating). A dominant bull will defend the bulling female from being mounted by other cattle.

While watching this video this morning I had some of the best laughs at people being so credulous about health topics. In that era the sexual frustration in women caused by a lack of "touching one's self" could be relieved by a visit to a "womb manipulator" or an expert in digital penetration. Men were still on their own. If you want to see what is was like in the Kellogg Sanitorium at the turn of the 20th century I suggest you view "The Road To Wellville". All things described here, and more, are found in the 1994 film which is available from several streaming and rental sources.
