I love this. We should have another date for it, though, so it doesn't get eclipsed by all the teddy-bears-and-chocolates-crap. I thought maybe "Annual Successfully Solo Day", but the abbreviations are ripe for abuse. We should mull it over.

I was buying flowers today and this lady comes up to me me and was like "Awww, how nice. Are you buying flowers for your boyfriend?" And I was really confused as to why her question was so specific and I said "No, I'm getting them for my mum and grandma cuz my mum just broke up with her boyfriend and my grandpa is dead." And she looked mortified and walked away. Then I went to the register and saw all the Valentine's cards and balloons and I was like "oooohhhhh. That makes sense." So, sorry to the lady at the market earlier today for traumatizing you 🤣

Brilliant! Singles should move to Finland 🇫🇮 for the day, it is called “friend day” here and people give cards or gifts to a friend or perhaps meet with friends for a coffee or a meal.

@@Mybabycase yes February 14th (Valentines day) is called “Friend Day” in Finland- they only imported the idea of a celebration in the 1980’s I think, there has never been any romantic connotations for the day here.

I am now in my teens and I still remember watching giggle and hoot as a baby on the TV 😂. Seriously though, JIMMY WHERE THE HECK WERE THESE MASTERPIECES BACK THEN!
