I bet those stitch tacks didn't penetrate enough and i guarantee that second pass did no good whatsoever. Its not supposed to work like caulking a joint. Its welding... actually joining peices together by melting them evenly as deep as possible so that it's as close to one peice as possible. Not just some crap stuck mostly on the top...even if it looks '"good" to you... it's not.

There's some sort of epidemic, tackers everywhere. Just spark and keep that arc running. If the material is too thin weld in direct polarity. Never pause, direct your rod (heat) to the thickest or longer material and just let the puddle do the rest to catch the other part so you don't end up putting a hole in it.

Do not use this guys welding as any sort of welding guide. Especially on a car mate. Unless you want it to be a dangerous piece of crap.

@@DonoldMcPeterson what weld process did you use? If you used stick welding please say you didn't use this blokes spot weld technique. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 And you can't weld body panels with stick welding. Well ya could reweld the factory spot welds if ya careful. But MIG is the best do everything weld process. It Welds allmost all steels and aluminium.

@@DonoldMcPeterson I forgot to wish you well with ya build. I just worry when you say this dodgy as guy that only stick welds , very bady, inspired you to give it a go. Are you posting any videos or photos of your car on line? I am a fully qualified metal fabrication engineer of 30yrs and I could give you some pointers if ya interested. Using a jig is good so I think you may be ok. Enjoy the car mate.
