(Former addict as well) Besides, how can you regret the only life you've only known and will ever know? Dwelling on yesterday gives it a chance to affect your tomorrow. Travel well, brother.

@@culu37what I hated is how they went to make it all religious as it slowly gravatated towards the implication none of it were true, which, is fine, but if you're going to make a comedic mockery of christianity atleast have it canon within the movie.

@@localgrassfieldboneshandler it wasn't mocking Christianity...it was lampooning Judaism (Genesis) as ridiculous and the patriarchs as mere comic fools. Now you may understand why it was critically panned and the studios avoided the director for a time.
This movie was so good on DVD. The unrated cut is a thousand times better than the theatrical

I remember when this movie released, I was working at a theater an some religious heavy lady complained to one of my managers many times to get rid of this movie... and of course he didn't say it directly but he pretty much said wtf do you want me to do lady, I just work here...

theres contractual differences between credited and uncredited actors, with various circumstances to their use. basically, its not a diss if someone who had a cameo isnt credited, it may have been deliberate, say even by rudd or his agent specifically

THis makes me want to see the whole movie again, i remember how i felt, not all the jokes land in the movie, but i appreciate the effort and creativity, and mixture of "low brow and high btow" humor! I'd also like to think that Abott and Costello would enjoy this movie :) plus i love how many people are in it, like This is the End

I filled in for Paul Rudd in a scene where supposedly he gets revenge on David’s character. They filmed me from the back with a wig on raising a stone to drop on his head. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. Funny thing is a few years later I booked my first lead in a Christian independent film and we used the exact same set.😂

Ramis was trying to do a Mel Brooks style Jewish lampoon...but he likely went too far for the Hollywood management set. Brooks got away with it because his were little skits...playfully joking about Moses or Adam...and he focused primarily on mocking Hitler or Germany...which got him a pass. This film was quite good farce, but it was unrelenting. The Abraham and Isaac sequence was likely too far even for a secular but cultural son of Abraham.
This was such an underrated movie. Much like almost heros with chris farley. Funny ass movie!
