It wouldn’t have been like this in Ancient Rome. Rome was heavily influenced by “Greekness” and they would have been influenced by Sparta not only Athens. Sparta was admired, but most sources, about Sparta was written by groups outside of Sparta. Today, most activist, modern, historians have been limited in their research. They have been mislead, by bad translations, and rewarded, when they depict sexuality in Sparta to be something it wasn’t. They have been motivated, to push a flawed perception of which in reality, was the opposite. Even sexuality in Athens has been exaggerated, so no doubt the same has been done when it comes to Ancient Rome.
Damn this looks better than your average Netflix historical documentary

This movie is hilarious. Critics shredded it for failure to story build and some scenes seemed more like skits than parts of a movie. They can tear apart technical aspects of the movie if they want but it’s a comedy and it brought the laughs.
@stephengrigg5988
Ай бұрын
@@closequarters4575that is a legitimate complaint. The connecting story is incredibly weak, and the strong parts seem like independent ideas they already had and worked them into this story. Like that awful ridiculous six Sandler movie, that has a really good drawn out scene about them creating baseball that I can pretty much guarantee was in someone's head for a while and just tossed into the film. This whole movie feels like that baseball sketch, some clever stuff but it doesn't work as a traditional "movie" since everything works so independently of itself.

This seems to be more likely set in like 600BC or before. 1AD was roman times. Romans banned human sacrifice by 1AD and it was already very rare before that. This seems to be more in line with the first temple period, when human sacrifice was becoming less common in the region.
