Well,thank you Mr. Welch. I didn't think there was an Elf race I wanted to play more.... But now I *REALLY* wanna play an Ee'ar! They sorta remind me of my favorite Bird race people in Breath of the Wild.

Aracokra bard. Has a little concertina and looks like a parrot. Though joking aside, the races in BotW do map pretty well to core D&D races. Hylians and Shieka: Humans. Rito: Wood Elves. Zora: High Elves (just LOOK at their architecture) Goron: Dwarves. Gerudo: Orcs.

I can remember my wife once wanting to be a winged Elf. Being my games are set in Mystara I thought of the Ee'ar but knew it would be a tough one. Geographical (we were starting in Threshold) and due to the issues you present here. Wings and Dungeons to me dont do well. And now we've all gone Pirates of Mystara, those wings and ships rigging would be a nightmare!

I was thinking of the winged people in Terry Brooks Shanara tales. Just a handful of clans in various mountain ranges. Some NG Giants that can sing trees and stone.

I remember an elf in my 1st D&D group accidentally became a "quasi-Ee'ar" in Castle Amber. lol

Hi Mr. Welch, I love your content. I’d love to see a guide on running old Mystara modules with Shadowdark’s system. I’m currently planning to run Night’s Dark Terror in Shadowdark. Any advice or tips?

You obviously couldn't take it past basic level unless there's a new book that I'm not aware of. The biggest issue you're going to have is Shadow dark doesn't do overland travel compared to BECMI. 5E is such a radically different game it's a hard comparison it's more of a almost superhero game compared to Shadow dark

@@Mr_Welch thank you for the reply Mr. Welch. Yeah my plan wouldn’t be to run anything high level which is why I thought Night’s Dark Terror would be a good fit. The overland travel issue is something I’ll need to consider more. Agree 100% that 5e is a superhero game. I’m very much done with 5e.

Do you prefer Moldvay and Cook's Basic/Expert or the BECMI/Rules Cyclopedia line by Frank Mentzer and Aaron Allston for your Mystara games?

Mentzer. I liked the progression past basic and also he did me a solid once and helped immensely with the players guide even though he doesn't even remember it

​@@Mr_Welch What do you think about the GM advice in the books? The Mentzer Basic seems to be quite rail-roaded compared to the Tower of Zenopus and the Haunted Keep in Holmes and Moldvay in my opinion.

@@Mr_Welch Mentzer is a genius. The original BECMI product was amazingly well designed. I even liked the intellectual integrity show with the errata included in the later products. Even the best minds cant get evrything right, straight out of the box (punn intended).

If you click the video as soon as it launches sometimes the audio doesn't load for about 2 minutes. Known issue.

No you can find it free on the Vaults of Pandius. Search orcs head peninsula PDF and it should be the first result

@@johnbalk6091 yes, but the editing of the book is a mess. The character options have their stats and their rules split in different chapters. But fluffwise it's full of a lot of new content. And the price is right
