I was in Kisangani in 1987 after travelling on the riverboat from Lisala. I flew from there to Goma. The airport terminal was a big empty concrete building with a leaky roof. The city looks much the same in general, more traffic I think. Mobutu was the President then, I see in the video he had a villa there. I didn't do much there, just waited for the plane for a few days and walked around. Back then the big treat it seemed was go to the soft serve ice cream shop. The atmosphere in Congo (Zaire then) always felt electric, I don't know why. Maybe it was the men walking around with machetes balanced on their heads. The riverboat was really something, a floating village, and that big river and the amazing lightning in a storm.

Kisangani was the 3rd. But now it has lose the 3rd place. Because others cities have developed faster than Kisangani. GOMA may be now the second or third beautiful city in congo. Kinshasa still the first ✌🏿✌🏿✌🏿.

kisangani fut la 3eme ville a l'epoque de belge mais actuelment kisangani ne merite plus le titre de 3eme ville du congo, et d'ailleur merci aux chinois qui ont introduit le taxi moto, sinon kisangani n'allait meme pas avoir le moyen de transport apart les velos [toleka] les vehicules sont a compter jusqu'aujourd'hui, quand a moi je pense que la ville de bukavu merite bien le titre du troisieme ville du congo,goma 4 eme , kisangani est actuelment le 5 eme ville en terme des infrastructures seulement mais en terme des activites , kisangani peut etre classer comme 10 eme ville.

Y'a rien de spécial là bas... Vous parlez de troisième ville du pays 🤣🤣🤣🤣mais bozo lota ou quoi???? Ce qoui votre critères svp???? Même parmi les 10 beaux ville du pays kisangani n'est pas figuré sur la liste...la circulation n'existe même pas...y'a que des motos taxi 🤣🤣🤣🤣des bâtiments de l'époque coloniale🤣🤣🤣🤣pouff ça me dégoûte vraiment...les arbres comme dans la jengle.y'a rien de modernité là-bas

Merci pour le commentaire. Oui oui Kisangani était la 3em a l’époque coloniale. Mais pas aujourd’hui. Et la vidéo était pour montrer au ressortissants de cette ville que la ville n’évolue plus depuis on l’avait proclamé 3em ville du ZAIRE ( Congo). La ville la plus aimer par le maréchal MOBUTU. Moi mon travail est de montrer les villes en Afrique et je ne suis pas de kisangani, mais j’aime kisangani et j’aime le congo aussi. Merci 🙏🏿.

J'ai entendu dire que beaucoup de gens à Kisangani sont métis, qu'ils ont du sang arabe ou européen, mais je ne crois pas cela, je crois que les métis sont très peu nombreux, et que la majorité des Kisangani sont presque tous des Noirs purs 100% Subsahariens, qu'en pensez-vous ? Juste une doute
