You can also try some pool noodles on Luigi and Mario's horns to soften the blows for Hercules until he learns to stand up to them so glad they're home 🥰

***🌺It's a good idea but can the goats defend themselves from predators if needed??! Remember your house is a ways away from them n that fence is quite low! Coyotes, wolves or just dogs or bobcats can easily get into that pen before u could even get near enough to help. It happened here, near where I live just this summer. Just be careful with what you do but Herc does need some sort of protection from those horns.***

Luigi may need tennis balls on those horns so he can't hurt Hurk.

All they need nownis some straw bedding to stay warm for winter.

Maybe when your out there and Luigi picks on him scold Luigi by pointing your finger in his face and tell him no in a stern voice. They can learn like that. I've seen others do it.

Goats are so sweet.

Luigi always gave picked on Grandpa's dog too.

Raccoons can & will get those feed storage containers open. Shannon you may have to build a lil storage area for the feed and a couple bales of hay. Raccoons will absolutely wipe the feed out and waste what they don't eat. Those mineral blocks are good to keep out for them even once they're able to forage in the woods.

Hurc watched Smokey give Grandpa hugs every time he kneeled down. He was watching!

Don’t forget to take the paper off of the mineral block. Also, you don’t have to break the hay up before putting it in the hay rack. It will waste less.

You could put your feed containers behind the goat shed, for now.

Congratulations getting “the boys” home! Hope Grandpa didn’t cry too much when they left.

One good bark from Herc, and the goats will, understand.

Good luck to you guys! Have you started the chicken coop plans yet? You best get going on that because the bugs will be coming for you, the dogs & the goats in about 16 weeks. Don't waste any more time trying to make life perfect for your goats, get the electric fence up and move on to the next animals! CHICKENS!

Not being mean but maybe a shock collar for the goat. You can give him a sound que or a shock if he goes after Herc.

I think because Luigi was lowest on the totem pole at Grandpa Adler's, he has looked at Hercules as "finally I have someone I can bully". I felt sorry for Luigi at Grandpa's. Even Mario would hardly let Luigi eat. Mario was a bit of a bully. I hope they all get things figured out!

Luigi tried to boss Smoky at Grandpa Adlers - presumably he sees another white dog and thinks he can do the same to this one - hopefully they've not been apart too long for the goats to learn that Herc is the final voice in nydiscussion

They're ready for some grain and water and then they'll go to bed

Just thinking if maybe you could have a remote and sit and observe and when he acts as if he is gonna be aggressive against the doggy zap him just a bit to train him that hitting is a no no.....might could research it if this might be a training tool for the goat to break him from being aggressive.

Hope your back isn't too bad. Take care of yourself. The goats and your puppy are going to work out their pecking order. Don't get too worried. It would be SO MUCH WORSE if it was Hercules being aggressive. So count your blessings. So excited your goats are home!

Yeh they will sort themselves out fairly soon I think. Someone suggested pool noodles on the horns - I thought of that when I had my goats - but then got blasted for it because some folk who thought they knew better (on a horse forum) told me the other goats would eat part of the noodles and get the foam stuck in their gut and it would be a bigger vet bill than I could afford (Ok, so instantly they decide my affordability re. vet bills... they were fairly correct but thats not the point, when it comes to the critters theres always a way), so Tennis Balls had little holes put in them, a bit of Gorilla Glue (which will come off if need be anyhow) and pop those on the ends. The little aliens (for fun put googly eyes on them or draw eyes on them lol) and that helps with less injuries while they sort each other out. I love Shady Acres so much already - K&S have done such a fab job. The cattle sound like fun. I had a backpacker turn up to stay with me a few years back - she'd been in Australia a couple of months, was at my place to do her 3 month farm stay to get her 2nd year working holiday visa, and I was in the process of moving. So that was a shock for her to start with, we were also moving horses all over, including quick trips from Victoria to South Australia with a couple, picking some up and bringing back to Vic when I lived there, and one late arvo/evening we had two cars - well I had my sedan she was in my ute with farm gates tied on the roof, I cant remember but I think i had the trailer or the horse float/trailer on my car, and there was a farm ute nose down a ditch, with lights on, in the middle of nowhere, so I checked to see if anyone was in it and had perhaps had an accident - my awesome backpacker was a bit freaked out thta I would stop to find out. Then I saw a torch light coming from up the road, someone walking back towards us. I left Tracey (backpacker) sitting in the ute there, and drove up to the torch light, and yep - as suspected - was the farmer who the ute belonged to. (he was actually wayyyyyy further up than he looked)... I handed him his keys - (I'd turned the lights off, and the ignition as his ute was still running, as soon as I saw his torchlight) and said Id done that and could I help? Yes please - rogue sheep - valuable sheep - had headed off up a side road and he thought he knew where they headed so we took off in my car to find them - yup they were there, he locked them in the sheep yards of the property they'd gone into, then knocked on the door of the house to let them know it was him not just some random around the place. Turned out he owned the property but wasnt using the house and had leased it out. We drove back to his farm ute, I got a huge thanks from him and I said that was not a problem - its what country folk do for each other. Tracey by then was worried but figured I'd be back, and very relieved to see us.

Loose cows are great way to meet the neighbors. So happy to see the goats home...they are so cute. Hopefully Herc will stand up for himself. Congratulations.

Oh that was sweet Kyle. When you was sitting on top of the wood pallet, one of goats was up there with you, herc comes up and looks like he wanted to protect you from the goat. That's a good sign. 😊

You need to put hay in the barn to keep them warm !😊

Sometimes it's necessary to allow animals to find their own solutions. Herc is a pup, but he knows his job and will only allow that behavior for a limited time before showing weegi who's boss. 😊

It is nice to see the goats get home, but I am very concerned for Hercules getting hurt. The goat could do some real damage to him with those horns. I do hope Hercules can find his big boy voice and bite to defend himself.

I'm glad that moving Mario & Luigi went so smoothly. The jealousy is definitely there with poor Herc. He was used to getting all of the attention & now there are 2 intruders needing attention. Hopefully they will work out how to get along together. It was strange to see Luigi try to go after Herc because he was the one who was always getting picked on by the Trio at Grandpa's. I guess Herc is still too much puppy to realize that he should be in charge. I saw the video with the cattle. When I lived in the country. the cows at least a mile away would sometimes be in my driveway & a couple of guys on horses would come & round them up. They wouldn't come down to the house because my dogs would bark at them.

Just seen Grandpa Adler Farms video, got to say I teared up a little, bittersweet. I know K&S are so excited to get their babies home and how happy all will be!

Poor Herc...He doesn't know he's a guard dog. He's been raised as a pet...You can talk to him all you want and he won't understand. Never heard anyone say that goats are nice...ever. Good luck with these animals.

Heat and a Chiropractor helped my back the first 15 years. Then ice gave me relief the next 17 years. Finally at age 72 the pain was unbearable 😫 and surgery with rods and screws was a blessing the last 6 years! 🙂

For those green beds I build a frame that you can set them in and fasten the frame to one end of the goat shelter that will prevent them from being knocked over even accidentally. One thing Moby sure you screw the lid on tight after each use for feeding. Also I would suggest some hay for in that shelter it will give them something to burrow into the keep warm for a night sleep.

All the blessings on the new situation. Things will work out. Take care of your back!

Please remember, Herc is a working dog, not a pet. Mario needs a collar and bell.

collars are goats can be dangerous. I know another family that lost one of their goats because he hung himself on the fence by the collar.

Grandpa sits and talks, cuddles w Smokey all the time and she does her job well. Mojo doesn't stay w his goats, but he sure will jump in the pen if he senses danger. The dogs all do their jobs as soon as they are needed. With only 2 goats, no bell needed, cause they know who is boss. That being said, I only have 2 cats, both w collars, but the 7 month old has a bell so he can't sneak up on my napping 8 yr old lazy boy lol.They are break away collars, so when they play too rough, the collars fly off. But then me and Lil Bit panic until I find Hunters cause we NEED his bell as warning 😆😆
