You’ll be surprised but this guy was quite popular in early 00’s. Even outside Russia, with touring in Asia (these guys like singers like Dimash and Vitas has that really high voice). Believe it or not, he has nice songs)) and Opera #2 was a hit.

I usually stop after the first weird vocal part... I've maybe listened to the whole thing once. But I sat through this again because nobody should be left to suffer alone! Hopefully many years pass before I ever hear this again.

I just subscribed to you yesterday David and I never thought I’d get a notification that you’ve reacted to Vitas. He is one of my favorite artists of ALL TIME. As weird as that sounds. He can actually sing opera and overall very beautifully in various musical genres..among them folk, operatic pop, arias, dance/electronic, and many more. He’s got some really weird stuff out there but that’s up to taste. You can’t deny he’s got an interesting imagination and once you delve into it, there’s no going back lol. This song was partly inspired from the movie “Fifth Element” the movie that came out in 1997, as for the rest of that album “Philosophy of Miracle”. There is a concert of that era at the Kremlin in the early 2000s and it was a little bizarre with the costumes and some musical choices but it is very fascinating to see..definitely a great show! He’s very charming as he gets older, he got very famous among the ladies lol. Anyways, here are some recommendations so you can hear a twist from him! NOTHING like what you just heard. -“Lucia Di Lammermoor” is his rendition of the song from the fifth element movie with the blue alien “the diva dance”. And it is in itself a rendition of the original classical composition which i don’t know the name of. -“The Star” is also a very well known one, one of his top hits back then. It’s a normal song but it’s a very pretty song that I recommend:) for both of these songs I recommend watching the music videos preferably. So you can see the work as it is! Not many people react to Vitas’ work so thank you for reacting! I’m hoping you give him a chance because you won’t be disappointed:)

Also just to point out one more thing, this video is a music video. A weird one at that😅but that’s the point. He’s lip syncing because it’s not supposed to be live. It’s a music video. And the name of the artist is Vitas and the song is “7th Element”. He’s a really talented singer and believe it or not, he has a very beautiful, celestial voice. You may not hear that many real live performances out there but I can assure you he has a great voice based off of my dedicated personal exposure to his artistry for the past 5 years. The man can sing. As he’s gotten older, his vocal choices have made it difficult for him to continue singing really difficult material but he still has a lovely voice. I don’t think you know just how famous the man is. Maybe not popular anymore but he has a very large and DEDICATED fanbase, people from various parts of the world but his primary fandom comes from China. I saw on his story yesterday and I think he just sold out a huge arena in China since he’s on tour and I was in shock cause I didn’t think people still loved him that much. But I’m guessing it’s the nostalgia or the commitment from long awaiting fans. I can go on and on about because he is truly a unique voice in this world and I wish many more people could that but it’s difficult to look past the memes than have gone viral. This video that you watched is posted by a random channel (go figure) and they don’t even get the name of the song right so no one even knows how to look up the artist or the rest of his discography. It’s a shame when some people just post other artists work and get away with it without it getting taken down or copyrighted. Idk say what you want about an artist but I just think that’s plain disrespectful. Tell me if I’m wrong because you know more about KZread rules and right more than me. What’s your say on this? And also😅I understand this song is not your cup of tea, that’s totally fine hahaha it’s meant to be a silly little song and silly video with a silly man. Not meant to be taken seriously at all. Vitas himself has a great sense of humor and he still does to this day even at 44 years old. He knows people make fun of him and he makes fun of himself lol. He’s a pretty chill dude! And he’s still making music to this day!!!
