Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5. At a very young age he was diagnosed with "perfect pitch". His parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan. He studied piano and singing. He later graduated in classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English. He sings in 14 languages. He has received countless awards and honors at home and abroad. After competing in "I am a singer" in China 2017, he became famous all over the world. In addition to being a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist (6), he has ventured as an advertising model, actor, dancer and audiovisual director. This May 24 he turned 28 years old and is 6.3 feet tall. He lives in his country, Kazakhstan. He has a You Tube page (Dimash Qudaibergen) where he has posted many of his songs. He recently finished a tour that had been suspended due to the pandemic, starting with Dubai where he was a total success with the attendance of fans from more than 60 countries around the world and which was repeated in Germany and the Czech Republic. I cannot fail to mention that he is an exceptional human being. He is known as "the best singer in the world". His last work is a video clip for the song "Okay".

Hello, I’m from Brazil! For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

Dimash has hit a D8. He also sings in 12 languages. This isn't even close to to his full scale. Also that yodel he does near the end is actually his voice. There is an echo at the very end. I think right now he is one of the top 5 singers in the world if not the best.

I was waiting for this, and you’ve barely scratched the surface. He has been trained in opera and various styles of music since the age of 5. He has a 7 octave range and can do whistle tone. He’s been confounding vocal coaches and people for years. He could very well be supernatural or an alien, but according to Dimash, it’s 10% talent and 90% training and dedication.

Welcome to Dimash. Yes, he has fans all over the world. One of his best is SOS. The version SOS Digital concert 2021. This time he will sing in French. He sings in many languages including English while being fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian. That being said, English is quickly becoming his third language. He has an astounding range, does many genres, plays multiple instruments, raps, dances etc. The band wrote the song and it was performed in Russia where as I have been told, it is considered respectful to be more ... subdued? He gets a lot of flowers which is normal there and in other countries. It was not staged. Trust me he is use to the flowers in various countries. He gets so many that they are donated to nursing homes and hospitals.

Every performance from Dimash is epic. The band are the band who had a hit with the song in the 90’s. The flowers always happen, they don’t give standing ovations in Russia, they give flowers instead, so it’s pretty normal. Dimash does get a lot though! I’ve seen him get a hundred bouquets. He was very shocked by that amount of flowers, he had to get the backing singers to help him.

I will correct a little - in Russia they arrange ovations, but this is usually at a classical music concert or at the theater, ballet, and so on. It depends on the hall, on the type of performance. In a particular case, the public is free - whoever wants, he sits in silence; whoever wants, he stands; whoever wants, he jumps with screams =) No one will be judged, and they will not say - you are doing wrong. That's right about flowers. In a country where you can't see living greenery for six months, flowers are associated with a holiday, warmth and something pleasant. For reference - in Russia, many flower shops are open 24 hours a day, which is very surprising to foreigners =)

Thank you for your reaction. Yes, the flower shower happens almost every time he performs in Russia, Kazakhstan and other places. It's always expected that a bunch of dears will run to the stage to bring him flowers when the song ends. And not just flowers but other presents too. I've seen even musical instruments. Dimash is also a multi instrumentalist. The band is a Russian band "A-Studio" that made this song popular years ago. This is their original song. If you check the original is very different from Dimash's arrangement. The band was most probably amazed but they don't express it. Same with the Russian public, they love Dimash but they don't show it. I believe it's a cultural thing. All Dimash's performances are stunning and mind blowing. His presentations are always amazing. Any song you pick for your next reaction it's gonna be an amazing surprise.

Great review. Thank you! Loved your surprised reaction. Now about the audience. This audience is mostly Russian. Their response to music artists and performances are always "reserved". It is a cultural thing. And you will see this at many Russian performances. Flowers are always given as a sign of extreme appreciation and respect for a good performance. The band is A Studio. They are very well known and they are the original song writers and producers. The bland expressions they have is amazement and appreciation for Dimash to sing their song. The original lead vocalist had passed away. And this performance by Dimash is in honor of that remarkable artist. (with some added touches by Dimash) Thank you for your appreciation and kind comments for Dimash and his music. Hope to see you again soon. ❤️

The more impressive fact is not that Dimash reaches these notes, but how he, having such a wide range, is able to perform low and middle parts in the song so accurately and gently. And I have not yet heard a single male singer who also felt comfortable as Dimash in the upper soprano parts (in other songs, Dimash performs not only in the soprano range, but also in the coloratura soprano), his control is simply amazing.

I love your spontaneous response to this amazing, wonderful singer, who is as beautiful in his character and integrity as he is in his talent. He was born with perfect pitch, but since then he has trained, formally beginning at age 5, working at least 3 hours every single day. He is deeply beloved. The flowers are a thing that happens at every show, because the fans utterly adore him. He does appreciate the flowers--and each time he has the responsibility to deal with them. One of the things he was saying was that he was asking a Th company to pick them up. i think that, other than a few going to his mother, sister and grandmothers, they are taken to patients in local hospitals. So this is something he has to see to each time. For the fans who give the flowers, it is just that they want to express their love in some tangible way. They--I should say WE--who he calls his "Dears," just cannot find a way adequately to express how deeply we love him.

Many people, including myself, credit Dimash with having changed their lives, in such ways as ridding them of headaches and depression that had plagued them for decades. It'a apparently a combination of his incomparable singing, and his deep, unassuming goodness, the sincerity of his love for his "Dears" (fans) that creates something similar to a miracle in the lives of those who encounter him---even at a distance of thousands of miles. I thank God for placing me on the earth at the same time as this amazing young man is here.

'A' Studio is the name of the band. The song is an original of theirs from 1997. Their lead singer passed away and this was a very special performance for them. The "middle eastern" sounding vocalization Dimash did in the middle of the song was in dedication to him. Flowers happen after nearly every single libe performance he does. In many cases this is a cultural thing.

Really liked your informed reaction to Dimash singing Sinful Passion! (Please click on the CC to watch it again with the English subtitles, as the lyrics are beautiful and you can understand what he was saying afterwards, too!) You’re correct, this song is in Russian and Dimash was an invited guest singer at the 2018 New Wave Festival for young performers in Sochi, Russia. However, he’s from Kazakhstan, and Russian is his second language after Kazakh (he also speaks reasonable English now, and a little Mandarin). He has sung in 13 languages so far, plays several musical instruments, can dance and is the most versatile artist I’ve ever had the extreme pleasure of seeing and hearing! Please carry on exploring his magnificent voice and performances! Greetings from the UK! P.S. The ‘backing band’ is called A-Studio and Sinful Passion is their original song, composed by the keyboard player in the 1990s - although it sounded very different from Dimash’s version!

Great respect for your score despite the fact that you didn't like the song. Dimash is considered by most vocal coaches one of the greatest if not the greatest vocalist of his generation, if not of all time. I kid you not. FYI, the band is not his; they are the creators and usual performers of this song, and Dimash was paying homage to their lead singer who had passed away. The Russian he was speaking was to thank them for performing and helping guide the musical direction of the youth; he did it in typical Dimash fashion - I call him the "Anti-Diva", and it's his personality is as much a reason as his immense talent for his fans loyalty. Very impressed that you realized Dimash's range is even bigger than what he showed. On the high end he his highest note he hit while in a live concert was a D8, which is beyond the range of a regular piano. Also, he is used to fans showing up with flowers. It's the fact that while he sings many genres including pop, rock, and classical, he's also an amazing opera singer (his arrangement of "Olympico" would make you enjoy Opera, way better than this song), and this happens to such singers. BTW, he sings in 13 languages including English, but his English is still one of his weaker languages. His breath control is incredible - his last run in this song went about 24 seconds on one breath (go back and check it out!!!). I can continue, but I'm sure others will give you additional info. Summary: Dimash is more unique than you realize. But for your first time, your reaction and analysis were very, very impressive. Respect!

Thank you for your reaction. Dimash always gives us a different experience with every song. After three years he still amazes me. That wasn't an echo, he did that with his voice, kind of a vibrato becoming faster. And at the end, 23 sec with one breath, with crescendo and riffs and runs. 😳 He is from Kazakhstan, he speaks Russian fluently and there's always flowers, even when he doesn't perform 😁 Thanks again, take care.

No my friend, it was not an echo. This vocal technique is from Central Asia, as well as this technique is used in some other countries. Reception sounds like a fast vibrato with yodal - tremor. You can hear this trick more clearly in Dimash's other performances.

😁 You said his name correctly from the first try, that was cool :)) And yeah, I think that was an E6 :) He can handle the 6th octave in head voice + flageolet, up to F6. His whistle notes only begin in the 7th octave, E7, F7, F#7, G7 (once he hit a D8 live in the middle of a song, in concert). Also, he can go as low as A1 in chest voice, and even lower in fry register 🔸He can sing in 6 octaves, and he can hit notes in 7.2 octaves. 🔸His musical genre is neoclassical crossover, mixing everything from opera -> rap -> kazakh folk -> rock elements. Every song is a surprise :)) That yodel/trill was real, no effect, and it was meant as a mourning sound, tribute to the lead singer of the band who passed away ("Sinful Passion" is a hit of the band A`Studio, on stage behind him). The keyboard man was the composer of the song. Dimash participated as a guest in this event (New Wave 2018). This was the first day, and several singers performed covers of the band A`Studio`s songs, as a tribute to their career. Dimash covered their hit "Sinful Passion". At the end, he thanked them, including for them being an inspiration for young singers. Dimash had great appreciation for the lead singer, who passed away at 52, and for whom he included that trill mourning vocalize in the middle of the song. The band A`Studio have been around for decades, so they are seasoned professionals, and they`re just chill, not bored :) [New Wave is a competiton for young singers, but Dimash was performing as a guest] Flowers are a way to show appreciation for artists, in eastern europe. Dimash had fans following his career since 2015 (when he won the Grand Prize at Slaviansky Bazaar), and even more since 2017, when he got 2nd place in a professional singers competition in China, which brought him international fame. Here at New Wave, fans of Dimash were in the audience, they knew he was going to perform, so they prepared flowers to give to him after the performance. It`s an eastern european thing. But now, fans from all over the world wait for Dimash with flowers (they borrowed the habit). In his solo concert in New York people in the audience also brought flowers for him. They even waited for him at the airport with flowers :) Dimash likes to bring his family with him at his concerts, so people prepare prepare flowers for them too, showing them love and appreciation. (the relationship between Dimash and his family and the fans is very family-like. Dimash calls his fans "dears", and considers them his extended family and friends, because of their support for his career, since 2015 to this day. A song where Dimash does not hold out on us at all, is "Olimpico (Ogni Pietra)" : kzread.info/dash/bejne/lp-EtZitaJfXl5c.html 😁 And speaking of "impossible" things, his favorite backstage warm-up is Mozart`s "Queen of the night" (famous for it`s highest soprano notes) - 1 min compilation with funny prank at the end : kzread.info/dash/bejne/qoWZpNlvadC-oJs.html Also, if you want to hear him throw a note that sounds like an electric guitar, try "Across Endless Dimensions" : kzread.info/dash/bejne/a5maq7l_mKeekZc.html P.S. you have a really good ear, you caught that E6 :) that was really cool :) sorry, I just subscribed, so I didn`t know things about you :) Loved your video, very entertaining :))

So glad you reached to Dimash. loved watching your honest reaction. A couple things that might provide a little context to some of the things that seemed off. The "face" you're seeing on the band likely has a cultural context. Effusive expression isn't necessarily appropriate culturally. It doesn't mean they are bored or unhappy. The flowers are also a normal thing regionally and they aren't planned by Dimash. It's a genuine expression from the fans. Flowers are given instead of people jumping around and clapping enthusiastically.

Dear David, Thank you very much for this reaction video! Yupp, here we are ... It's totally okay that this song is not your cup of tea. Even I, as an ardent admirer of Dimash's art, don't like every song of his equally (and a few of them I don't like at all). And actually, I was always at home in the rock and pop scene of the 80s - that had always been my thing. Musical😕? Classical music😖? Folklore😵‍💫? Rap😡? Schlager🤢? Yuck, get away from me with that! And then this forbiddingly good-looking Dimash guy walks up, opens his mouth and turns my acoustic comfort zone upside down😳🤯😍. I felt as if I understood for the first time in my life what music actually is. Since then I have been addicted to this voice. I confess that Dimash hit me with the scale so sustainably and at the same time so charmingly that I bought concert tickets and a plane ticket and booked a hotel stay at the next available opportunity just to see him live. Well, the whole thing was delayed by two years because of the pandemic, but hey, I finally made it and went to one of his rare solo concerts. And yes, that's how it works with the flowers💐. He gets showered with them. Always. And he accepts them personally whenever possible. As far as I know, the bouquets are donated afterwards. I'm curious to see if you'll do another reaction to another of his songs soon. Until then, lots of love from Switzerland 🤗🇨🇭

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. Great reaction, you've barely heard 10% of what he's capable of. Yes, he has a 7 octave range, combined with perfect pitch and 23 years of full-time music education. He sings anything from Opera to Rap and everything in between. Dimash himself says his voice is the result of 1% talent and 99% hard work. You really need to hear SOS especially from the 2021 Digital Show where you will hear more Rock, even metal vibes from a song from a French rock opera deemed to be one of the 5 most difficult songs to sing. Because he is so versatile you never know what he is going to do next, music is like a constant experiment with him, as a musician (he plays 7 instruments) and a composer (he has a master's degree in composition) he has all the skills required to reinvent music in the way he does best. I hope you do react to something else from him as only by exploring more of his music do you find out what he's really capable of. Normally with artists, they have a genre and it's easy to predict what's coming next. Not with Dimash, he's completely unpredictable, flies from genre to genre and frequently mixes them up within the same song. It's a fun ride. Hi from the UK btw.
