Excellent watches Roy 😀🍿🎸🎶 I only seen ‘Jack Reacher’ the once and that was at the cinema in 2013 😂👍 I did enjoy it; love the ‘Cornetto’ trilogy; ‘Hot Fuzz’ is definitely my fav in the trio 😊

Great update mate 👍🏻 I must admit I really enjoy The lady gaga Star Is Born too. Wasn't one I expected much from but honestly blown away and rewarded several times since.

Hi Roy. Another good varied week. Very happy to hear you enjoyed Manon Des Sources and great that you rewatched A Star Is Born. I still enjoy Jack Reacher too but Never Go Back is pretty poor. The Amazon series of Reacher with Alan Ritchson has been pretty good fun, especially the first season. Southern Comfort builds its tension nicely and I love the Ry Cooder score. I’m a fan of Basil Dearden and would love to see The Halfway House. Others of his that I particularly enjoy include Pool of London, Life For Ruth, All Night Long, A Place To Go, Sapphire and The Mind Benders. And on and on, he’s a good director to get into. Not many i have seen this week Roy, Really enjoyed Jack Reacher but like you i thought the sequel is forgettable. Southern comfort is really good, i have that Blu-ray but haven't watched it yet. Now i have seen and really enjoyed The ship that died of shame and The green man so have put them and The halfway house on my wish list. Thanks buddy.

Hey Roy, my comment yesterday seemed to get deleted for some reason! A great week of watches there. Got to love Hot Fuzz, but like yourself I think Sean of the Dead has pipped it to the number one spot of the trilogy for me. I had similar thoughts about The Postman always calls twice, and I have that same release of it. Turner is a great femme fatale but I haven't actually seen her in anything else yet which is a shame. I quite enjoy that first Jack Reacher. I know people didn't like Tom Cruise for the role because in the books he's hugely tall, and Tom Cruise is probably a foot shorter on a good day, but always enjoyed the brutal nature of it. Rosumund Pike is excellent in it too I thought. I can highly recommend the new 'Reacher' TV show if you are interested in the character. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Manon des Sources as well! Emmanuele Beart was so astonishing in it. She had such a great underlying contained fury about her, and when Daniel Autieul pours his heart out to her, and she simply stares with this rage and then runs away without speaking, I thought that was incredibley powerful stuff! Such a heartbreaking and deeply affecting film. If you wait for a sale from Umbrella, you can get it on bluray pretty cheap even with the shipping cost.

Hello Warren thanks I have no idea why your message would get deleted. I can only thank you again for introducing me to those 2 films. I've ordered a copy of 12 Women off the back of Beart in that film. I've known of that film but dismissed it as a chickflick just because of the artwork but it's actually a whodunit. I will certainly keep my eye out for an Umbrella sale. If you see it happening please tip me the wink.

Ah it's happened a few times to me over the last couple months. When you write a word or phrase youtube doesn't like it just deletes automatically and then doesn't even tell you, annoyingly. No idea what it didn't like though! 8 Women is definitely worth a watch, and Isabelle Huppert is the real standout, she is hilarious in it. Hope you enjoy it. I'll definitely keep an eye out on Umbrella and let you know!

Ha, ha! Never Go Back. Read the book, saw the film and about a year later watched it again but couldn’t remember anything about it! 😂 Is that the one with Rosamund Pyke?
