KITTEN BREAKFAST (00:02 )
Tikka Marsala (orange kitten) is weighing more than his two siblings, and I've been advised by the vet team to feed them separately and more often. Usually in a litter there is one that eats more, plays more, and eventually grows more due to this virtuous cycle. Some kittens take longer to catch up, but eventually they all do. I've found that the more social kittens tend to grow faster - since they are more curious which leads to more exploration, playing, socializing, eating, and sleeping.
CARL SCHURZ PARK (02:25)
Parks in NYC can be super crowded, we tried doing a picnic at Central Park two weeks ago and it was absolutely packed with people. Now, I prefer Carl Schurz earlier in the morning around 10-11AM and leave by 1PM when the crowds come for the afternoon. There are no tourists that go here, and it's all the way along the East River which means a small walk to get to. Watermelons are such a great snack and you don't need to bring extra water if you've got enough.
MORNING COFFEE (0:3:34)
Work has been quite stressful lately, so remembering to take a moment and clear my head is important. It seems that as of mid-2024, every company is integration some AI component into their core features, but it's still very early in the technology cycle. What's interesting about LLMs is that everyone has the world's knowledge at their fingertips, versus 30 years ago if you didn't have an encyclopedia - you just had no idea how something would work.
SNAKE PLANT PROPAGATION (05:45)
In the past month, I've went from 0 plants to 20. When it's the end of the month, people are always moving apartments in NYC so it's easy to pick up deals on plants via Facebook groups. I recently picked up a fairly large snake plant and realized it had smaller pups that I could split out. I cut out 4 leaves and hopefully by the end of 2024 they will grow into smaller new plants of their own. I've totally underestimated how much plants would make my apartment more cozy and look better.
DIY CLASE AZUL LAMP (07:24)
Recently, I also stumbled upon some DIY projects that featured turning leftover Clase Azul bottles - they can even sell for $40-$50 on eBay which is quite crazy. On Amazon, I found a lighting kit, ceramic drill, and blue lamp shade for $36 total. While it's slightly expensive, I like that I can say "I made this myself" and nobody else can really copy it. There is some sense of pride of having things you create being used in your own home. With 4th of July coming around, I'll be looking to make 2 more to place around the apartment.
