This week Bishop Earl Boyea pauses On the Road to Emmaus for a burst of Eucharistic inspiration. At last weekend’s Easter vigil approximately 620 men, women and children became Catholic across the Diocese of Lansing. That's the highest number of converts in a decade and up over 30% compared to last year. Among their number was the Campbell family who were received into the Church at Saint Mary in Charlotte. So, what led them into the Church? Watch and find out.

This family ia amazing!! It definately is the Holy Spirit working in thier lives. MY HEART was full of joy watching them receiving our Lord in the blessed sacrament for the first time. I could actually feel thier emotions of Truth and completeness, like the search for Truth has been answered. They are have made home!! God has BIG plans for this family. ❤🙏
they should be taught to receive the Eucharist on the tongue only that's how sacred this sacrament is 🙏

@judykley9118 Why do you think that? My understanding is that to receive kneeling helps to correct the sin of pride. Kneeling and not using your own hands to feed yourself humbles you and allows you to experience what it’s like to not be the one in control, to trust others to care for you…we all came into the world in that position, and most of us will return to that before dying. That said, not everyone has problematic pride. I do recommend trying kneeling. If someone really objects to it, that IS a sign of pride…I trust that God shows each person what he or she needs. I think God is doing a fantastic job speaking to the Campbell family, and they are doing a fantastic job of listening. God’s grace is AMAZING!!!

@ThePixilator 2:33 That’s funny, but take care with how we welcome new people to our community. All DUE respect, as Catholics, we listen and choose to speak words that are inspired by Christ. I am so thrilled that the Campbell family chose Christ, and even more thrilled that they recognize the REAL body of Christ and are choosing it despite, in their own words, “anti-Catholic” Christian roots. WELCOME HOME!!!🎉 The wedding vow “Do you take this woman…” does not imply abduction, it implies choosing above all other choices. “Taking” and “receiving” are one in the same in the sense of Christ, just as “teaching” and “learning.” Christ taught, but the Pharisees did not learn. That wasn’t Jesus’s fault; He could teach all day. It was the unwillingness of the Pharisees to understand Christ and enter into relationship with the one true God that was the problem…that was on the Pharisees’ end. They weren’t taking His Word… In my opinion, “take” and “receive” are analogous to “The Son” and “The Holy Spirit” in the Trinity. That IS communion. Blessings and Happy Sunday!!!

@@delyco1 Blessed Sunday. I'm sorry. It seems you have misunderstood my intent. Probably my fault for trying to keep it brief. The word TAKE, is one way to say it, but there's another word which more FULLY describes not Only the ACT of Taking, but what also conveys what is in our hearts as appreciation as we gratefully Accept God's body and blood. With most sincerity, I was attempting to pass on something to be "aware" of, which I mentioned was from a (very wonderful) Priest who shared it with the entire congregation, not only me. As a good shepherd, he was giving us something to reflect on. At the time, I myself, had just recently become part of this Catholic family and was like a sponge, desiring more of Everything God offers. Through knowledge, wisdom and divine teaching of all who offer to share with me. I GREATLY appreciated the insight. I'm hopeful these new brothers and sisters in Christ will too.

@@ThePixilator No apology necessary, but thank you for the clarification. Catholics get a bad rap as being judge-y or pedantic (hence the anti-Catholic sentiment common among protestants.) While that has not been my experience (I’m also a convert), the short “bumper-sticker” explanations cannot substitute for the whole homily, especially in the case when you don’t have a well-established relationship with the folks you are catechizing. 💛🙏✌️

@@delyco1 True. The roots of Catholicism and the steadfastness of the doctrine we Still maintain, was what drew me towards it. Unfortunately, IMHO, it's also what puts the target on us as Christians. Sadly, even from Other Christians. None of us are perfect, but in a secular world, I'm happy to be standing with those who try to Not bend God's commands just to accommodate the errors that others have talked themselves into believing are ok. Now, I just hope I haven't stated this wrong too. It happens sometimes 😬 Peace be with you.
That’s a nice story, but it won’t help my family. My wife is a devout 7th Day Adventist, who is plagued by our lack of unity. Her intellect is limited. The “Church Fathers” are just words that are not in the Bible, same for “Protestant Reformation”. she doesn’t know about that. She has a simple faith. God rested on the 7th day. Jesus was baptized as an adult. Pray for us.

SDAs are a hard lot. There is a youtube channel called Answering Adventism. It's run by a young man who was born and raised SDA and discovered its all bunk. I don't think he's Catholic, but he's definitely well versed in the fallacies of their theological arguments. God bless.

I’m glad she believes in Jesus and that she is devout. There are a lot of worse things a wife could be… I’ve only known one Seventh Day Adventist. He was a remarkable, intelligent, and caring man. He was stricken with polio and only had one leg, but did AMAZING things (he built his own house, HIMSELF, for one. No contractors. He dug the basement, laid the bricks, roofed it. EVERYTHING.) He was highly intelligent (I’d guess his IQ to be around 130-140), but I *would* categorize him as “anti-intellectual;” he was acutely aware of the limitations of knowledge… I will pray for you both. The vocation of marriage is not easy, but it is your spiritual work. 💛✌️🙏
