Week 1 of Monetizing My Art Channel
This concludes week 1. It was mostly a research week, and I look forward to putting all the info I've learned into practice in Week 2!
Please tell me about any older women creators on KZread you find inspiring! We all need to find each other!

Oh, this makes me very happy to hear! We WILL figure this out!!
I briefly worked at car toys for six months when I released my first video. My boss told me to be realistic and that I shouldn't waste my time putting meditations on KZread because I wouldn't make any money. Well he didn't deter me. I haven't created a video in years and it's still paying my utilities + small expenses. It took a little time to get to 1000 subscribers because this channel wasn't even created to be my main focus/job. It's just something on the side that I was passionate about sharing. The growth was exponential after each subscriber level of ten people, 100, 1,000 and so fourth. I don't think I'll get to 10,000 now unless I make more content. If I had worked diligently on my channel, especially when I had momentum, I could have started making serious money. You're clearly hard working and have great content (the algorithm is recommending you hehe) so you'll grow quickly. Keep creating! New subscriber here. I can't wait to see what you produce. ✨

Holly, I love this so much. Thank you for this encouragement! I've recently been told to be realistic as well, and I am not deterred, either! And side note, I went over to listen to one of your meditations, and I loved it so much! Your voice is beautiful, too. I can see why your channel is still successful even years later. Have you heard of Allie Boothroyd (here on KZread)? She has Yoga Nidra guided meditations and I find them so restorative.

@@SpiritualSherryLynn A new channel! How exciting!! Enjoy creating. ☺️
Hey I was really glad to watch your video! I have had my KZread channel for about 2 years now and have (as of today) 1080 subscribers and approximately 2200 hours of watch time. I primarily teach fabric painting and do quilt shows and use KZread primarily for teaching and educating my subcribers/students. KZread has been quite a challenge to master; and I totally suck at videography but I learn something new every time I do a new video and try to make each one a little better than the last... and by the way, I am 68 years old and think you are NEVER too old to learn! I look forward to your insights and stories as you take this KZread journey! Good luck!

I was also recommended this video! I just posted my first youtube video today! I am only 24, but I still resonated with everything you said. I feel like I have so much to learn about painting still, but I would love to document my journey. I am still trying to figure everything out, but I guess that is just life! Good luck on week 3!

I found this really inspiring! I've decided to start next week (school will be over, and one of my workplaces as a psychologist is school, so I will have more time in summer). You look fabulous, smart and relatable, it's so great seeing women our age (I'm 45) breaking through on internet. The video quality seems great, and the audio is great. I will subscribe and look around your channel, and I'm very interested in what equipment you're using. Oh, I feel immediate connection with you, Anne, and I'm looking forward to getting inspired by your youtube growth! I'm very intrigued by the art I see in the background.

Diana! Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I instantly subscribed to your channel and loved your description. Can't wait to see your videos this summer! I will definitely share my equipment info in the weeks to come, I have some solid recommendations already for some key items. Right now as you are getting rolling, and based on interests listed in your description I would recommend the Canvas Lamp (expensive but in my opinion worth it after trying other bummer similar items). It has a super solid (heavy, sturdy) base, a ring light, and an iphone holder that is very flexible for moving around, all in one contraption. Can modify light to be cool, warm, or neutral, can adjust to bright or dim. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
The algorithm recommended this to me, too! Just subscribed. I have been wanting to start a channel with my art content as well. I’ve been afraid to put myself out there. You are inspiring me! Thank you!

Oh, hooray! Way to go! Looking forward to cheering each other on!!!!
Best of luck to you. My channel is a collaboration of two of us, and we have just now reached the thresholds for monetization. A few suggestions for you that worked for us: LEARN. Research what works for other people. Find good resources. Experiment. I know it feels like a LONG road at the beginning. As they say, overnight success doesn't happen overnight! It took us just over three years of posting every week before we got much attention, BUT that attention only came after we started really paying attention and learning how this all works, and once we did THAT, it came pretty fast. Just posting a video every week, without having a clue how to run a channel, wasn't getting very far very fast at all. For your search: I'm female, in my 60s, working with a male business partner. It's his face in the videos, for the most part, so you'd only know I'm there if you read the info on our channel page. I like the idea of connecting older women creators.

Interesting stat about women over 40. I have art KZread channel (I am 49) but I haven’t been consistent with it. I have had it for 6 years I believe & have only 62 followers. I for some reason fear/lack confidence showing up on video. I diversify my artist income. I feel art channels only get attraction if you only talk about the business side of art. Vlog style or showing your work people don’t want to see that as much.
@annelivingstonart
Ай бұрын
I would love to hear more about how you diversify your income! I am developing my plan for that. And yes, I agree that talking about the business side of art is very popular. The art situation on this platform is definitely a sort of the practical, educational corner of the internet (except for the super entertaining or soothing bits). Have you heard about the new app Cara? It is a new platform by artists for artists, being developed by volunteers in a group based in San Francisco/Bay area. It's like how IG was many moons ago. No vids, just artists showing each other art right now. Probably other parts of the art community will follow suit, such as gallerists. I'm very curious to see how it develops. There are still bits of glitchiness as they work out the kinks. But very promising!
Glad that I got I on the recommendation. But how do you monetize with 63 subscribers?
@annelivingstonart
Ай бұрын
Oh, I'm glad you asked. I should explain in the next video...this is my JOURNEY to getting monetized from the beginning with this small channel. Thanks for visiting!
You Tube suggested this video to me. I started my channel just over a week ago after being inspired by Jen from @SilverandSolo. I am in my 7th decade and need to create a small passive income to supplement my state pension, which is not enough to live on. The learning curve for video creation has been steep. And yes, my one and only video which I posted last week sucks, big time! I hate the sound of my own voice... KZread likes consistency apparently, so I am aiming for one video a week. I have liked your video and subscribed to your channel. I wish you all the very best and every success and look forward to following your journey.
