He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018 at Sochi, then "Stranger" 2021 at New Wave, "Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) KZread channel, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for his most recent song and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Welcome to Dimash. This is the tip of the iceberg with Dimash. You will never stop being surprised by Dimash. He sings in many languages while being fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian with English becoming a fast third with a little Mandarin thrown in for good measure. It is a very intense video, hard to watch but you will get a taste of more of his insane range, his acting skills, and his heart as you read at the end a message. It is in English with English subtitles because he still has an accent although those of us who have followed him for sometime have no problem understanding all he does in English. You’ve just met the best voice on the planet. He has a vast repertoire of all genres of tunes and I can truthfully say you will never be bored. Some newer tunes are War and peace, Ikanaide, Stranger, Be with Me, there’s older tunes like Olympico, Sinful Passion, Love is like a Dream, Hello, and so, so, many more. His most recent and personal masterpiece is The Story of One Sky which is a 14 minute movie/ music video. My list can go on and on, I never get tired of listening to him sing. His voice has healing aspects if you are stressed out, it’s the vibrational quality, it steers you to positive vibes and takes away angst. You can feel it when his songs gives you chills, and goosebumps. He just takes everything to the next level. When you’re a fan you’re called a Dear, that’s what he named them when he sky rocketed into fame at the I am Singer competition in China in 2017. And by the way he is an extremely humble, respectful man, patriotic to his country (Kazakhstan), and has a great sense of humor. He’s trained in music since he was 5 years old ( he’s 28 now), and he’s tall at 6’3”. He working on his PhD now in Musicology and has a masters in composition. He is still somewhat unknown in the west, and had a concert in New York just before the pandemic hit the world. Luckily there’s tons of performances and concerts to watch, and we’re all waiting for the official video of his latest concert in Kazakhstan, though there’s lots of fan cams to watch already of it. Also because he’s so slim and good looking he does a lot of modeling for sponsors and designers. When he was younger he did Thai Kwan Do (green belt), he swims (improves his breath control) and he’s got soccer skills too. He literally lives and breathes music everyday ( he practices 3-4 hours a day, unless he’s on a project then it’s like 10 hours according to him). Not unexpected since his parents were famous singers themselves, especially that crystal clear quality he gets from his mother. His father is his manager and both parents attend his events. He’s hooked up early with multi-billionaire music mogul Igor Krutoy from Russia who came out of retirement just for Dimash and has written many songs for him. Dimash has to be one of the most talented and hard working people on the planet by far. I’m just grateful I’m alive during his lifetime so I can witness his career and music, and oh so incredible, once in a century voice!
