I get laugh on their invitations because am not really a photographer, but i'm trying to learn how to get a good shots. Grandma killed it! I shoot weddings and MY GOD, you try to set something up, put everything in it and ... someone comes along, you have one split second to make that shot and they kill it (or just about it). I know the feeling ... But I laughed my ass off when I saw grandma ready to tackle that guest who pulled her back! Sweet ... Memories. You did well! I enjoyed your video!

I’ve watched numerous “behind the scenes” wedding videos… this is probably the best one I’ve watched! Learned a ton. You gained a new follower for sure! Thanks.

I've been doing high-end wedding films for over a decade, and have decided to scale up and offer photo services. I landed on this video looking to polish up my detail, posing skills and flash technicals. I have to say, you are sharing so much for nothing more than YT clicks, the wealth of information here (even for a seasoned luxury vendor) is extremely valuable. This is an absolute game changer for me. Everything clicked. Everything you do during that day, when you do it, and how you do it and where you place your second shooter is all intentional. This has been the best behind the scenes video I have seen and I've seen quite a few - many from other very well known photographers in the industry. I felt like you just gave a free cheat sheet to success for the photographer and how to make it a great experience for the client. Anyone who watches this will be a better wedding photographer and will make the wedding photography industry better overall. Thanks so much John.

As a amateur/intermediate photographer I am amazed by all the experience you’ve given me thus far. badhabit same. And nothing matters once you shoot raw. Guess some just hate the “jpeg” because of some snobbish “raw only” mentality. I once delivered a paid set with jpegs only. Was booked again because they liked it. Classic Chrome ftw.

Bro! You have no idea how great this video is to me; probably the best I’ve seen on this topic. People have asked me to shoot weddings, but I don’t want to mess up someone’s big day. On the flip side, you can’t get good at it or gain experience without doing it. For whatever reason this video came up in recommendations, and best of all…. I also shoot with Fuji and have all of those lenses and an XT3 and XT4. You definitely got a subscriber out of me.

Thank you for breaking down wedding photography into an easy-to-understand system! Definitely the best video I've come across. I just started shooting on the Fuji XT3 and I'm in love! It's been a challenging transition from the Nikon D750 and the first thing I noticed in a couples shoot was the lack of bokeh compared to my old gear. But I'll take a crisp shot over a little extra bokeh any day. You're the best!

Thanks for sharing this awesome and incredibly detailed content! I have my first wedding as a photographer coming up in January and this has been incredibly helpful to prepare for it. On a logistical note, about how many XT3 batteries are you using per camera during a 10 hour day? I plan to buy more before the shoot and wanted to hear your experience with battery life on the XT3 (if the info was in the video and I missed it, sorry about that). Thanks!

I just have to say, your pics are ridiculous!!!! You capture everything from the angles you use to expressions on their faces. Your body of work is REALLY good. Just a question, is there a reason why you didn't use flash during the ceremony???

Thanks for the kind words. So for the ceremony I could have used flash at least when they were walking out. Since at that point they were backlit. The rest of it the lighting in the area was just perfect for a nice almost "creamy" look to the photos. So I think that worked out well. But I just decided not to use flash because I knew I would be fine without it.

It helps when you have a good sensor where you raise shadows in post processing. With Cripple Canon you have to play safe and use fill in flash.

I seriously love this. And I think every wedding photographer should watch this on WEDDING DAY EVE...just to prepare! Great Job!

It's nice to see years of experience luring people in exactly the same way. While watching this video shot in a completely different country, it was as if I was watching a copy of myself. Same order, same redirects, same preferences from start to finish. Excellent job.

Learned a WHOLE lot more than I already knew. I have done about 7 or 8 weddings in the 4 years of doing photography, and although I have done some of the things you were saying to do, I have still listened to your other tips and advice.
