Electric floor heating is intended to warm tile floors and make them more comfortable underfoot but can also contribute to space heating. Floor warming is a type of radiant heating that provides heat differently than from a forced air heating system or from a baseboard heater or wall convector. The tile industry plays a role in contributing to a dwelling’s ability to regulate heat for both comfort and efficient energy consumption. As the tile covering warms up, it will radiate heat to the surrounding objects in the room, which can increase the comfort level of the occupants.
