Webinar | ACLED's 2024 Watchlist & Global Conflict Index

The ACLED Conflict Index assesses every country and territory in the world according to four indicators - deadliness, danger to civilians, geographic diffusion, and armed group fragmentation - based on analysis of political violence event data collected for the past year. The top 50 ranked countries and territories are experiencing extreme, high, or turbulent levels of conflict.
The rankings from the ACLED Conflict Index inform our Conflict Watchlist 2024. The harshest blows of conflict in 2024 will likely fall on the world’s countries that are already the worst hit by violence. The Conflict Watchlist suggests that many of these same conflicts - fueled by political competition, regional crises, and civil disputes - will catalyze more violence in several of these states.
Watch the virtual launch of our 2024 Watchlist & Global Conflict Index as ACLED President Clionadh Raleigh, Head of Data Science, Katayoun Kishi, and Head of Analysis, Andrea Carboni, talk through the findings in a discussion moderated by ACLED's Chief of External Affairs, Hugh Pope.
