At last a kindred spirit :) I love everything about nature and using everything I can find to make art and crafts, also a self taught artist from very young, I am glad I found your channel, I have a ton of Ivy that needs to be taken under control and I have been collecting the vines to do just this project. Thank you for sharing your time with us and your beautiful basket which I love! Blessed Be!

I’m usually a silent viewer - I watch from the high desert in the USA and you’re one of my favorites on KZread. I have some interest in foraging, wildcrafting, baskets, herbalism, etc., but as I’m chronically ill I don’t usually get very far when walking or hiking. Your videos are a way for me to still enjoy the vibes from my couch. I haven’t been able to read much in the last few years, but I’m working my way very slowly through Braiding Sweetgrass, which I saw you recommended on your other video. I’ll have to check out your patreon!

Hello from the San Francisco Bay Area! I’m a theatrical scenic artist, and manage the scenic art studio for a large regional theater. I get a lot of joy making things with found materials. I particularly like working with invasive species or things I’ve grown in my tiny urban back garden.

If Drew Barrymore was a tenor 😁 Next you should weave a couch like the one at your friend's house!

I tend to be the silent viewer as well. I recently took a basket making class. Ours was this same style. I am fascinated by the possibilities and am here to learn from others.

Really pleasant vibe to this video and you made a beautiful basket. I hope it will get lighter as it dries out? About fiction books well I really love the Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind, there is also the free audio version on KZread 😊

I’m sooo happy I discovered your vlog this morning! You are a delight! I’m a forager, a dabbling weaver of both fibers and flora. I love my stuff to be rustic and wild, loose and spontaneous and I love everything I’m seeing here! 💖💖💖

Thank you for sharing this video, it’s so helpful and I’ve been searching for a video just like this 💚 I work at a Forest school for preschoolers and I’ve made a couple baskets for the children and learning/making it up as I go. This will definitely help my future basket making endeavors. I’m very interested in learning more about invasive species basketry. Love your channel! 💚

It looks so pretty but maybe better for storing wool or crystals at home. I really enjoyed watching the process and whenever you release a video it's a good day x

ooooohhhh yesss it turned out soooo lovely!! I've woven one little wonky basket with ivy as the frame thingy, and then nettle and plantain cordage as the weaving material (if any of that makes sense). I recently made a few little tiny pine baskets which smell so piny and wonderful! Need to gather more ivy to make a big basket! Anyway, happy weaving and sorry for the lengthy comment!

OH also books!! I'm the oposite and can't get into non-fiction. I think you'd really enjoy The Dark is Rising Sequence, or maybe The Mirror Visitor quartet if you're up for something strange and different

To answer your question, I’m interested in weaving English ivy because it’s an invasive species here in the USA. Very passionate about sustainable living/ living with natural materials.

Could you weave with fresh ivy?? I'm clearing a big patch at my dad's and I was wondering if I used dried sticks, and fresh ivy, would that perhaps work..? Also new to your channel, thankyou for sharing your talents 🎉 Edit: just got to 17mins in and guess that question is now answered 😅

Beautifully crafted - video and basket. BOOK!! Novel ? An American author - Barbara Kingsolver for a fellow flower farmer/naturalist of sorts, I'd recommend PRODIGAL SUMMER . I'd also recommend Animal Vegetable Mineral, and ** The Poisonwood Bible... all by same writer. She's very popular here in states. (P. Bible is exceptional story by her). TOM ROBBINS is a delicious writer... I started with Jitterbug Perfume. Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas was maybe my other fav by him. He's best word smith ever. AND for the environmentalists, sad, deep and true story... NEVER CRY WOLF by Farley Mowatt. (Biography.., true reporting of canadas tx of wolves. He writes other books, People of the Deer - regarding Can tx of indigenous people).
