I think it’s more restrictive and uncomfortable to wear a sock all the way from your foot up to your knee

Classic Athletic Tape!
That tape job way too wide for me, need to split strip down to about ⅓ width. Johnson & Johnson Coach athletic tape the best, imo. Actual pro tip: ask your trainer/physio what type of athletic tape they prefer (they might even give you a roll or two, if you ask the right way). In the end, it comes down to player's preference...athletic tape, duck tape, electrical tape, guard stays...whatever works best for you.

Reduce slipping and sliding of your sock inside your boot! They make a massive difference!
