Weaning Calves

It's that time again, time to wean our spring calves. It is important to watch your 1st time heifers closely and not let the calves get them down. This can be a stressful time for all those involved! We believe fence line weaning is the best for mama and baby! It allows the mama and baby to see and even touch each other while weaning. It usually just takes a few days and they all get the hang of it.

The fence line weaning works great. How long do you keep them around before you sell the calves.

We actually don’t sell the calves. We raise bulls and heifers to breed and steers to feed our for meat 🙃
