I do training like this with a friend of mine too, I usually run backwards in front of her telling her that if I can do this speed backwards then surely she can run faster forwards. Getting her angry by insulting her helps too, anger is a really good motivator to push harder and dig deeper. Thankfully here in Australia parkrun has been back since January, I missed it so much. You guys must be so relieved to have it back finally!

Love it. I'm a recent inductee to the world of Parkrun. I've only done 3 so far (but 2 in the past 2 weeks!) and I'm eyeing off 25 minutes as my initial goal. Currently nearly 4 minutes shy of that, but at age 54 I have quite a bit of catchup to do. I find pacing myself to be near impossible at this stage, so I've downloaded a training plan (thanks, Running Channel!) and hope that'll help!

I did that park run by accident just before the first COVID lockdown. Me and a mate were heading for the Severn crossing bridge parkrun but due to the flooding the bridge we were going to us was closed. Fortunately this run was close (ish) to the bridge and we made it there with seconds to go by sprinting to the start line. The moment we got to the group the race started and we had to run back up the same road we sprinted down. Needless to say didn’t get a PB nor crossed to Severn but still another Tourist PR done. Well done 👏 and welcome back Parkrun. Been too long.

A PB of 32.21 but can't wait to smash that time with the return of parkrun.

Well done. Good effort. This is why I never understand this phrase people use at the end of a marathon which is, ‘Only a park run to go!’ A flat out 5k is bloody exhausting.

Way to go Sarah. How exciting and it was great to have Andy along for support and as a pacer. I usually start off way too fast and the last kilometer or do can be daunting. Definitely interesting to see how your form and your mental state changed with each kilometer. Congrats again on your PB.

I didn't expect to get emotional watching this! You did amazing Sarah, especially on a really hot day (don't know about you, but that's my least favourite running weather). You should be SO proud of your new PB!

Well done Sarah. My parkrun PB is 23:37 @ Ormeau Park in Belfast (lovely course). Currently targeting 23:00 @ Edinburgh Blast run in a few weeks. Always need a challenge after a marathon (Paris last month) and find switching to speed from distance keeps me fresh and focused.

That was MASSIVE! Great job, Sarah! So proud of you. I'm stuck at 20:25 since 2020 - I barely managed a sub 21 a year ago and I can't wait to smash that 20 minute barrier and your run inspired me a lot to get after it! (plus you're super cute) :D
