We Warned You About The Clippers

Спорт

On Friday night the Dallas Mavericks eliminated the Los Angeles Clippers 4-2 in their first round series. Once again a very disappointing end to the season for the Clippers. After struggling initially with James Harden the Clippers became one of the hottest teams in the NBA from mid November to early February. Unfortunately the Clippers once again dealt with injuries and for the second year in a row they were a first round exit.

The Spurs are that first husband who warns people that she's (Kawhi's) a great person when she wants to be, but she's unstable behind the scenes. Also he lost his trusty truck (Danny Green) in the divorce. The Raptors are that rebound who only dates her for a summer (2019 season) and doesn't get to be with her long enough to find out who she truly is. He was initially heartbroken that she left him so soon, but now he understands he was lucky. Though he yearns for her whenever she posts a hot pic (when Kawhi has an awesome game). The Clippers are the second husband who doesn't believe first husband's warnings, he is in debt up to his eyeballs (way over the cap) cause he told her she could quit or work part time (load management), he bought her a Mercedes (PG13) that constantly needs repairs, bought her a new house (Crypto arena), and even bought her things he knew he shouldn't be buying... like NFTs (Westbrook) and front row tickets to P. Diddy concerts (Harden) just to keep her happy. Sidenote: Lauren, you're the worst. I hope you know that.

As a Clippers fan this was my last straw for Kawhi. Can't defend him no more. Plus he made us lose game 2. It was a close all game with Kawhi playing badly at 70%, if he wouldn't have rushed and throw away the chemisty the Clippers had, he could've came later and possibly win the series or see a Game 7. Despite this Harden isn't to blame, PG not really either, and Russ although played bad, he wasn't relied on to take the load. All the blame should be for Kawhi.

How many teams have we seen in the last decade that gutted their depth to build "superteams", and everntually collapse or get their asses beat badly due to lack of depth, injury, or just bad roster construction and fit? The Clipper weren't a real contender, they were just the flashiest new pretenders. Same for the Suns and Bucks this year.

As a clippers fan, i think we need to re-tool for one more run with Kawhi and if that doesn’t work, blow the rest of it up. We’ve been saying “if Kawhi was healthy” for 4 years and it’s starting to get really frustrating. I think a PG sign and trade for a pick or two and a good 4/stretch 5 to pair with Zu is a good start, but I’m not sure where to go from there. I think Harden is a really good fit because he unlocks the rest of the offense beyond his/kawhi’s iso’s (especially from our bigs) but he needs to have Kawhi and exclusively Kawhi next to him because PG is completely unreliable in the playoffs

Talent overflow is a real thing in the NBA. Just as in real life if you fill a cup of water to it's brim while leaving the pipe on, the intertia cup will cause it to fall over 🫗 Just like the 2000 Rockets, 2003 Lakers, 2013 Nets, 2019 Warriors before them 🪦

The clippers has a tendency to solve their issue years late. During the lob city error they clearly needed wing depth, and they never solved it. So is the Kawhi period, they needed a PG since the beginning. They won games because both him and PG were just iso ball then their bench comes in and score more points. Then they got harden 4 years late lol

As a very long time Clippers fan, I hate that I'm right every year. I want them to prove me wrong but every year, almost consistently for the past 12 years, they have been good enough to make the playoffs and in some situations they've been favorites or even should have been favorites but they haven't even made the finals. Kawhi has to go, and he can take Harden with him. Neither one of them can be trusted to show up in the playoffs.

The real question is, what does Paul George do after this? I don't think it'll make much sense for him to go to another team that isn't contending but other teams that are contending are more than likely over the salary cap and won't be able to afford him. I think it's pretty likely that James Harden will re-sign with the Clippers since he doesn't really have a choice and Russell Westbrook purposely singed a smaller contract, so the Clippers are more or less "whole" going forward.
