​@@user-dn3fn3bg4l But charles and shaq's point is that Kawhi is injured. No matter how hard they try to get him acclimated, he's not magically going to be the same player he was. Looks like his injury is bad too so he's definitely not gonna be a great 1st option anymore. He's got to play a role that will put the team in the best position to win games. If that means that PG and Harden are gonna have to be more aggressive and defer less to kawhi, then that's what they got to do.

Agree with Sir Charles, why would James Harden and PG choose not to dominate the game when they know it's only a 50% or less Kawhi on the floor

they may have overlooked that the spacing with Kawi was poor and the clippers did not push the ball. Kawi is usually one of their top finishers on the break. Kawi hasn't made a 3 pointer since he came back from his injury. In addition his help defense is limited as his mobility is notably less. Kawi is their best player but on a bad wheel he is not shooting the 3 and is not the Kawi everyone knows. Im not sure he should play at this point.

Harden has been the one consistent of the 3 so far. 20+ on all games

This game was a lot of fun to watch.

No kahwi shouldnt defer becuase they played some of their best basketball this season with all 3 of those guys dominating but they definitely should bring him in slowly. Have him come off the bench 10-15 minutes in game 5. Being that they have played well without him they have the luxory of checking the temperature before they just throw him in there.

An injured Kawhi is still Kawhi so they feel like incorporating him the usual way, but he obviously can't perform the usual way. So when he's not playing PG and Harden delegate his role to themselves and it works better. Probably best to rest Kawhi until he feels good again.

Dallas shooting them bricks in the first 1,5 quarters. 3 wasn't falling at all...

Clippers could not miss a 3 and Mavs couldn't buy one with a max contract in the first half. Mavs also should have switched to zone defense at the end; they can't let Harden keep driving against Luka when Luka has 5 fouls; he's just gonna get wide open looks. They didn't adapt. The comeback was incredible but then PG hits some wild 3 pt shot which was the dagger. Kyrie is doing amazing but Luka has yet to have a "good" game. He's getting his points but off of terrible efficiency. I'm not sure if it's his knee or wtf is going on, but he needs to pull it together or Mavs can't win. Meanwhile, I think the Clippers are better off without Kawhi; they play so much faster with him not on the court and that speed I think makes up for the talent that he brings currently.

Luka has actually played terrific defense looking at other games and he has guarded Harden efficiently in the previous games. The issue this game was he got 2 fouls in the first 2.5 minutes of this game and had 5 fouls for the last 3-4 minutes of the game. Of course the Clippers are gonna switch Harden into Luka where Luka can't do anything close to foul for fear of fouling out. Mavs should've adapted and gone into a zone defense. Instead, Harden got 4 practically uncontested floaters which just can't happen.

Shaq and Chuck are right. They shouldn’t be worried about winning a championship rn. Next series they can after getting past the mavericks but the objective should be in the present. They need to get out of this with them playing quality ball and Kawhi healthy, and if that means sitting out some games or being a pass first option then that should be the focus. They need to go with what they know works and that’s PG and James. Kawhi needs to either sit out or come back and be a facilitator, not a scorer. Only way they are gonna get efficient production. Otherwise, it’s gonna be a lot of “hey Kawhi is back, give him the ball each possession” and that causes a bunch of mistakes cause you’re telling the ones that are getting you these wins to defer to someone that isn’t acclimated yet.

The clippers' team performance is clearly more competitive in this series without Kawhi than with him - this could be due to any number of factors, including the desperation on both ends of the floor; the rhythm of the offense; the buy-in; the freedom to create... etc. etc. This fact doesn't have to be seen or interpreted as a disrespect to Kawhi's talent as a champion or his value to any roster. The clippers' should consider running Kawhi as the leader of the second unit for this series rather than have PG and Harden defer to him, then re-assess the competitiveness of team with Kawhi in the starting line-up for next series (should they progress)
