Big love, thanks CS CS! We try and give out as much as possible where we can. Rarely have the camera out for it and don't think it'd be right to start filming when you're handing out money, but this woman didn't seem to care asking while I was filming. Hopefully she had a good chance to eat with it! We always like to help people out and hope that others will do the same, life can be cruel and it could've easily been one of us in that position.

These are vegetarian friendly traditional food you can find anywhere in peninsular malaysia especially, maybe not so much in sabah and sarawak, just like the delicious _rojak (ie. rojak mamak)_ you have apparently known about: _Tauhu sumbat_ (fried tofu cake stuffed with some slices of cucumbers and carrots, then some chilli sauce or satay peanut sauce poured onto it) _Cucur sayur_ (vege fried fritters, this is a snack, usually sold by tiny roadside kiosks in the afternoons, fried on site, comes with chilli sauce dip) _Cucur pisang_ ball shaped fritters made with mashed bananas mixed in flour, also traditionally an afternoon tea time snack for the malays. _Lempeng_ which may also be _lempeng pisang_ ie with bananas, this is harder to find, years ago I myself managed to find some sold in a seaside malay eatery near the town of marang in the state of terengganu, this is also traditionally a malay snack for afternoon tea, or for breakfast, usually eaten with curry (maybe you can opt for vege curry if they have) or its chilli paste (or _sambal bilis_ which you don't take). Kids usually have it with condensed milk or plain white sugar, but if you're eating the sweeter _lempeng pisang_ I also recommend a bit of either of these 2 to eat it with. I myself have managed to visit cardiff very recently, and enjoyed their traditional welshcakes, yum! 😋

@@VeggiesOnTour BTW 2 things about the delicious _rojak:_ Usually 1 of the fritters they mix in is _cucur udang_ which is deep fried fritter which has round disc shape but thicker in the middle, and 1 or 2 pieces of small shrimp on top. 2nd, I usually ask for 1 extra egg (½ or 1 hard boiled) and ofc that costs a tiny bit more, but cutting it into tiny bits will add nice creamy sweetness from the egg yolk making the sauce taste even more delicious! Yeah, so I do suggest you ask _tambah satu telur!_ 😋 Enjoy!

In Muar there is a place called "Kubu Bentayan" ( Bentayan Fort ). Once upon a time it was the last stronghold of the Melaka Malay Kingdom. Bentayan Fort was created by the Sultan of Melaka, Sultan Mahmud Shah as the last stronghold of the Melaka Malay Sultanate Empire in 1511 to resist the attacks of the Portuguese fleet as soon as the city of Melaka fell into the hands of the colonists.

muar was the capital of johor after melaka city was conquered by the portuguese in 1511. sorry it was not independent of malaysia and singapore. in 1855 for 22 years muar was a separate state from johor because there were two claimants to the sultan of johor's throne, and the one who was less powerful was given muar as his sultanate till his death, while the one who was more powerful ruled the other parts of johor. muar is one of johor's two royal towns and the other is johor baru.

Back in the 90s, most people still used motorcycles and there was a huge motorcycle scenes in these small towns amongst the youth and young adults. So we used to ride in a convoy all the way to Muar from our home town in Batu Pahat using the state road and hangout near the riverside there. And met several other motorcycle groups from nearby towns like Tangkak or Kluang or JB. Then we would eat Mee bandung and return back home using the highway and exit through Yong Peng, sometimes we would stop by at R&R Yong Peng before the exit. Other weekends we would ride to JB and hangout by the strait facing Singapore, it used to be a beach there where people can still walk around called Pantai Lido. Then we would eat at their famous hotspot (I forgot the name) and ride back home. Good old days 😄

But I think any higher point in Batu Pahat like on top of Old Street rooftop can get a nice sunset view. I don't know much about newer eating spots, probably gonna look around for it.

Very Difficult, Alor Setar is a bigger city - probably more liveable. Muar slightly edges it for food!

Muar is the hometown of Muhyiddin Yassin but it looks like that even the people of Muar prefers Anwar Ibrahim of Pulau Pinang over their very own leader!

@@VeggiesOnTour Actually, it's rude to call him "Ibrahim" because it's his father's name... He should be referred by his 1st name, "Anwar"!
