You should bring your family to the Putrajaya Ramadhan Bazaar and eat picnic style during break-fast at the garden near the Iron Mosque. The evening picnic with the rest of Malaysian in the park is the best experience ever. Google the location and go tomorrow! Trust me, its gives you a different Ramadhan vibes than the city centre.

Did you already found the "gulai nangka" yet (got to be super cautious because sometimes they have a salted dried fish or anchovies but it always depends on the Chef) I always found that Giulia is adorable when she minding with her business and taking a random pictures that capturing her own POV of things in her imaginative perspective.. like watching an innocent child watching something that simple to us but magical to them.. 😊

It is said kaya toast were invented by Hainanese chefs working with British during colonial times in Malaya. The Hainanese chefs adapted kaya from fruit jam using local ingredients like eggs, coconut milk and pandan. I suspect the half-boiled eggs eaten with soy sauce and pepper was also inspired by the English soft boiled eggs.

Please dont claim and making up story if you dont know the real history. Kaya jam was invented by Peranakan Baba & Nyonya and not Hainanese. Chinese Peranakan who assimilated with local Malay cultures has their own identities; language, culture, custom, cuisine etc. Hence it exist in all Malay Straits Settlement; Penang, Melaka and Singapore. Peranakan cuisines are heavily influenced with Malay cusines eg Asam Laksa Nyonya, Kari Kapitan and many delicacies (Kueh). Kaya spread is not adapted from English fruit jam, as Pandan has been used in many Peranakan and Malay cuisines eg Nasi lemak for coconut rice and desserts and boiled eggs have been consumed traditionally by Malay a long before and normally mixed with honey and sometimes with dark soy sauce, and nothing to do with English at all.

@@hafizhassan9786I think they were confused as there is a Hainanese variation of Kaya. So yes Kaya wasn't invented by the Hainanese but they did adapt their own recipe and made a variation that's different from the Nyonya Kaya.

Something was not right here. I wonder when you mention some Malaysian foods that are of Indonesian origin. No, it's not right. The Malay food, like rendang, asam pedas, laksa, and satay, is actually of Malay origin. To make it clear, these foods were actually created over 500 years ago and more. At that era, there were no such countries as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei because these countries were just created after World War II, after four countries gained independence. Traditional Malay regions include Riau, Sumatera, and Peninsular Malaysia. These foods already existed 500~1000 years ago. There are four historical separate countries, which were originally known as Nusantara. British and Dutch agreement to separate Malaysia and Indonesia, while Brunei and Singapore were part of Malaysia 70 years ago. Brunei and Singapore exited Malaysia in another case. I hope you don't need to mention the food that burdens and hurts Malaysians as well.

There is some confusion here lah, in the video I was saying that Bakso is Indonesian so the sellers there may be Indonesian. I then mention Asam Pedas almost straight after as I'm pointing out a special Malaysian dish - I know Asam Pedas is a Malay dish - it's certainly not Indo. Have you seen how popular it is in Malacca? It's almost land of Asam Pedas! There is some crossover but plenty of Malaysia only dishes, Malay have a special way of cooking. Even then with crossover dishes like Rendang, Sate etc - the recipes are berbeda. Trust me - i've been to every state in MY and can name food from each! I would never say Asam Pedas is from Indonesia... Hope that clears up the confusion, maaf lah 😂🙏
